According to reports, Manny Pacquiao will leave the balls to challenge the WBC Welterweight champion, Mario Barrios, on July 19 in Las Vegas. The former world champion of eight divisions of 46, Pacquiao (62-8-2, 39 kos), will fight for the first time in four years since 2021, seeking its first victory in six years since 2019. Although Pacquiao is not classified in the first 15, the WBC rules allow the old champions to challenge their world titles.
Meritocracy debate
Boxing fans on social media are divided into their thoughts on what Pacquiao has been given a title without winning it. People who are fan of Pacquiao love the idea and cannot see him behind, fighting the weakest bond between belt holders in 147. In The Fipside, critics consider this to be a bad movement for the Meritocracy of sport. The fighters are supposed to win title traits, they will not be given based on what they did a decade ago.

There is no guarantee that Pacquiaso will be successful against the 29-year-old Barrios (29-2-1, 18 kos). While Manny is definitely choosing the weakest of the champions in 147, he is not young and active enough to have a good shot to win. Pacquiao seemed very washing in his last fight in 2021, losing before Yordenis Ugas for a 12 round decision.
He blamed his defense of the cramps on the calves to run too much in the training field. It only looked too old and rusty from two years away from the ring. Ugas dominated Pacquiao in this struggle.
There is the potential that Pacquiao hurts. Hopefully, the referee goes quickly if it seems that Manny is punching. It would not be a good idea to leave the 46 -year -old young man to tie the punishment.
The reason
It is not clear what purpose is Pacquiao to return. Some social media fans believe that Pacquiao has spent the fortune he obtained from Mayweather’s struggle in his political career and is now forced to return to the ring.
If Pacquiao has blown all his money by turning into a senator, he is disappointing. Made a fortune of his fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr. in 2015. The struggle was not entertaining, with the two fighters looking badly on the hill and Mayweather made the least to win.
