As tensions are cleaned between India and Pakistanit Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has made the unprecedented step of moving all the remaining parties of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 This season in Karachi.
Visuals showing damage to Rawalpindi’s Cricket Stadium in Pakistan have circulated on social media, accompanied by the claims that a drone hit the premises just before a PSL game on Thursday. The Pakistani government has not yet issued any official statement on Drone’s alleged attack. Despite the increase in the tensions of India-Pakistan after the last military and counterparts, the PCB initially maintained that the PSL would continue as planned. However, after Drone’s incident, the PCB chose to transfer coincidences to ensure security.
The decision was completed during an emergency meeting at Lahore Stadium Gaddafi. The PCB, after a comprehensive consultation with all interested parties, concluded that Karachi offered the safest environment for the rest of the league. This change follows the reports of a drone attack near Rawalpindi’s Cricket Stadium a few hours before the scheduled match between Karachi Kings and Peshawar Zalmiwhich was later called and will be re -programmed in Karachi.

PCB’s priority is to avoid interruptions, especially with the next T20i Home series against Bangladesh In the Horizon-A series considered crucial for the International Cricle Calendar of Pakistan. There are eight games in the tournament: four league games and four playoff games, including the final. Of the league matches remaining, three were originally scheduled to Rawalpindi and one in Multan. For the playoffs, Rawalpindi prepared to host the qualifying round, while Lahore was designated to host the two eliminators and the final.
Although the sudden change of the headquarters presents important logistical challenges that come from travel and team accommodation to entrances and broadcasting, the PCB and local authorities are still confident in Karachi’s ability to accommodate the remaining accessories. The city’s infrastructure is expected to be proven with major sporting events, and the rapid deployment of security resources will mitigate possible interruptions.
