Gautam Gambhir reacts to the removal of Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma, on Wednesday (May 7), announced his retirement from the test cricket with immediate effect. Veteran Batsman announced his decision on social media, while confirming that he would continue to promote his trade for Team India in the 50 more format.

His decision comes with little more than a month remaining before the five -game test series against England begins. He recently expressed his excitement for India’s leadership in the test series during his appearance at the Australian captain’s podcast Michael Clarke.

However, Indian selectors wanted to eliminate him as a test captain before the series. And with the workforce to be announced later this month, Rohit Sharma decided to demolish the curtains of his test career.

“Hi everyone, I would like to share that I retire from the test cricket. It has been an absolute honor to represent my country in whites. Thank you for all the love and support over the years. I will continue to represent India in the hate format,” Rohit said in his statement.

Rohit’s testing race spent more than a decade. Debuted in the test during the two -game test series against the West Indies in 2013. By 2022, he also replaced Kohli’s virtue as captain of the test team. In general, Rohit played 67 tests and scored 4301 runs with the help of 12 centuries.

Cricketing’s fraternity has been occupied to pay tribute to Rohit Sharma in his illustrious test career. India’s main coach Gambhir has also joined the bandwalk.

Shortly after Rohit announced his decision to retire -Gambhir brought X (before Twitter) to pay tribute to the Indian baptism star. Gambhir greeted Rohit as “teacher, leader and jewel”.

Like Rohit, Gambhir also faced serious criticism after India’s bad performance in tests last season. He will wait for a better show from Team India to the next series against England. Although India has dominated England at home in recent years, they have not been able to do it in English soil.

India has not won a series of tests in England since 2007 and will be eager to finish the undefeated race in the next series.
