Yankees Great Derek Jetter Talking to Michigan Students University

Derek Jeter made a speech in Michigan University On Saturday, she told about the importance of fighting through failure.

A New York Yankees Legend played baseball in Michigan, the state he called the House in Kalamaz if in 1992 he did not immediately turn a professional. But he attended university classes and always showed his Fund for his teams for years.

Jeter, who received an honorary degree in Michigan, made a hundred students who graduated from school and used his own failure in his message.

“The failure is very important,” he said. “If I can probably promise you, you won’t get. The greater the dream, the greater the risk. But what is the price if you don’t risk it – if you do not commit dreams? You can overcome, or maybe you don’t.”

When the Jeter decided to go to the professionals, he did not swim in the minor leagues.

“I fell in public, I failed. There were the days I literally cried because I was so bad. First season as a professionalI made 56 mistakes. For fans that are not in the side, it’s hard to do intentionally, “said Jeter when the crowd burst out of laughter. “And it’s not funny either.”

Jeteer’s struggle through the hardships worked ultimately.

He reached the Major League in 1995, and the rest – history. Jeter gathered the Career of the Hall of Fame, becoming one of the most experienced players, perhaps the most popular franchise in American sport.

But he wouldn’t get there if he allowed the failure to determine who he was on the diamond.

This is the message he gave Michigan students preparing for a professional life.

“You, I, each of us must learn to fight the failure,” Jeter said. “I would not succeed without failure. This is your task to make sure the speed speed will not be the checkpoint.”
