Everything Blake Lively’s Costars Have Said About Working With Her

Blake Lively has been in the business for two decades, making headlines on and off the screen.

Lively rose to fame playing Bridget in the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants opposite franchise America Ferrera (Carmen), Alexis Bledel (Lena) a Amber Tamblyn (Tibby). Since the first film in 2005, the four have remained close.

“When you’re that close, you can sit down with someone and jump right into the deepest conversations, which are the only kind of relationships I love to have,” Tamblyn just say Us Weekly in February 2019, noting that they often have play dates with their respective children.

“(They’re) filled with lots of delicious, cream-filled donuts and … catching up all the time we haven’t seen each other,” Tamblyn gushed at the time. “I think that’s the way all love is.”

Tamblyn, Bledel and Ferrera also had Lively’s back in December 2024 when the Gossip Girl alum sue her It Ends With Us a director, Justin Baldonifor sexual harassment. (Baldoni denied the allegations.)

Justin Baldoni

Baldoni played Ryle Kincaid, the abusive husband of Lively’s Lily Bloom, in 2024 It Ends With Us.

“Blake was involved in every aspect of the film once she came on the project, from scenes and dialogue to the end, until now,” said Baldoni Entertainment Weekly in August 2024. “She’s been a part of it all, and she’s been a powerhouse of a creative and brilliant collaborator.”

It became clear that there was a problem, however, when they did not do any promo for the film together. Lively did not publicly address the apparent feud with Baldoni until she named him in a sexual harassment lawsuit in December 2024. He denied the allegations, later filing a $250 million lawsuit against her. The New York Times for libel and false light disturbing privacy. Baldoni and his legal team argued that the newspaper published a “fully orchestrated vicious smear campaign” by Lively’s camp.

“She’s officially kicked me out of the movie now,” Baldoni he allegedly wrote in text messages to his team, he stated in court documents. “She finishes it all. I can’t participate. Sound music VFX everything. I’ll make it through somehow. Just need to feel it all.”

Meanwhile, Lively’s attorney denied the allegations in a statement: “This lawsuit is based on the patently false premise that Ms. Lively’s administrative complaint against Wayfarer and others is a sham based on the choice not to file a lawsuit in against Baldoni, Wayfarer, and that litigation was never his ultimate goal.”

America Ferrera, Alexis Bledel and Amber Tamblyn

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants stars have long been vocal about their ongoing bond. Ferrera, Bledel and Tamblyn released a statement of support even in the midst of Lively and Baldoni’s lawsuit.

“As friends and sisters of Blake for over twenty years, we stand with her in solidarity as she fights back against the reported campaign to destroy her reputation,” they wrote in joint Instagram statement in December 2024. “Throughout filming It Ends With Uswe saw her summon the courage to ask for a safe workplace for herself and her colleagues on set, and we are horrified to read the evidence of a deliberate and vindictive effort that followed to discredit her voice.”

They concluded, “Most disturbing is the unannounced exploitation of the stories of survivors of domestic violence to silence a woman who asked for safety. The hypocrisy is astounding. We were struck by the reality that even if a woman is as strong, celebrated, and as resourceful as our friend Blake, she can face powerful retaliation for daring to ask for a safe working environment. We are inspired by our sister’s courage to stand up for herself and others.”

Jenny Slate

Slate played Allysa, Ryle’s sister and Lily’s best friend It Ends With Us. She too standing in Lively’s corner in the midst of the lawsuit.

“As a castmate and friend of Blake Lively, I voice my support as she takes action against those who have been reported to have planned and attacked her reputation,” he said in a statement to Today in December 2024. “Blake is a leader, a loyal friend and a reliable source of emotional support for me and so many who know and love her. What has been revealed about the attack on Blake is horribly dark, disturbing, and downright menacing. I applaud my friend, I admire her courage, and I stand by her side.”

Anna Kendrick

Kendrick costarred with Lively in two A Simple Favor movies.

“It was great to have that kind of partner-in-crime vibe with you,” Kendrick told Lively in a joint session Buzzfeed interview from 2018. “Sometimes you work with someone, and they’re great – they’re really great – and they have a very different style of working, let’s say. You know, they’re the kind of person that you can’t just come up to them in the middle and be like, “Yeah, let me tell you what just happened.” So that was great.”

They reunited in Simple Favor 2which was filmed in 2024.

“She lives on the East Coast, I live on the West Coast, so we don’t get to see each other very often,” Kendrick told People that October. “But it was lovely, and I think those characters have a weird chemistry so it’s so fun to get the gang back together. And it feels a bit like riding a bike.”

Penn Badgley

Badgley and Lively played an ‘on-off’ couple on Gossip Girl throughout its seven-season run on The CW. They are too dated in real life.

“Beyond our relationship, I don’t think anyone is going to be interested in me in public,” he said to sight360 Variety in 2023. “To be honest, I never struggled with substance. Blake didn’t drink, and I think our relationship in some ways saved me from forcing myself to go down that road.”

While Badgley and Lively split in 2010, their characters of Dan and Serena were getting back together. They got married in the series finale.

“I certainly don’t think it’s awkward for anyone,” Badgley said during an episode of his “Podcrushed” in September 2024. a podcast. “I’m pretty sure we were exes for almost half the entire run of the series. It lasted almost six years and I don’t think we were together longer than two.”

Chase Crawford

Crawford, and Nate played forward Gossip GirlBadgley’s comments supported that he and Lively worked together amicably after the split.

“Not at all. Not in the least,” he said during the 2019 appearance forward Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen when asked if there was any drama or bad blood. “The most mature people in the world.”

Ben Affleck

Affleck and Lively portrayed a couple in the 2010’s The Town.

Michele Morrone

Morrone plays Lively’s husband Simple Favor 2. He also voiced his experience of working with her in light of the legal case against Baldoni.

“Usually it’s not my thing to make those kinds of videos, but I think it’s time to stand up for a person I love a lot and this person is Blake Lively,” he said. in December 2024 Instagram video. “I met Blake in person during A Simple Favor 2. We shot this amazing film together and I felt like something was wrong, and I felt the pain … We had the opportunity to talk, me and her, (and) Blake was in pain.”

She added, “Blake, I love you so much. Keep going and we’ll see each other very soon.”

Michelle Trachtenberg

During Lively’s Gossip Girl tenure, rumors fly that the actress and co-lead Leighton Meester was a violation. Trachtenberg later debunked the claims when speaking to them Vanity fair in 2017.

“It’s funny because when we were filming, it was ‘Leighton hates Blake, Blake hates Leighton, everybody hates Blake, everybody hates Leighton, everybody hates Chace,’ and blah, blah, blah,’” Trachtenberg recalled. “It wasn’t true. We were all cold. It was cool.”

Kelly Rutherford

Rutherford played Lively’s mother Lily Gossip Girl.

“She’s so glamorous and cool,” Rutherford gushed on a 2022 episode of “Beyond the Velvet Rope” a podcast. “She has such a way about her. She’s so inspiring because she’s really fearless, not afraid of anyone and very open.”

Rutherford, however, admitted that she did not have a close relationship with Lively during the pilot as she was a new mother in real life.

“I didn’t have the bandwidth,” he said. “But, it worked great because there was this kind of isolation that allowed that relationship. He created enough distance where he was working to be a parent in that way.”
