Merz that should swear when Germany ends six months of political deadlock

The German Parliament intends to select the conservative Friedrich Merza with its new chancellor.

The 69-year-old guy promises to revive the country’s economy and increase his vote on the world stage.

This ends in Germany’s recent political limb after the last government has fallen.

But the Merz takes office during a huge uncertainty abroad and growth at the far right home.

“This is our historical duty to make this government a success,” said CDU leader on Monday when he officially signed a coalition agreement.

Proponents of Merza claim that what they see as a good government can help solve growing dissatisfaction with voters.

“I think we really need to prove that we solve problems, not radically, just very responsible, visible, detailed,” says Mark Helfrich, a member of the Bundestag.

But the CDU, CSU and SPD coalition have a narrow majority with 328 places – just a dozen more than the minimum.

In the federal election in February CDU/CSU pushed the support of only four points, and the coalition partner, SPD, crashed to its worst postwar result.

The Merz promised to strengthen the immigration rules, invest in the country’s sick infrastructure and restore ties with key European partners.

He has already ruled the Law on the Liberation and Security from the Hard Borrowed rules of Germany – knowing that he would not be able to find the necessary majority in the new parliament.

“A great solution,” says Claudia Major, Senior Vice President at the Marshall German Foundation in Berlin.

But since the support of the governing parties is relatively low, “Merza will need to persuade a broader public of the need to spend more on defense.”

After moving into the heels of the measure in this parliament, it will become an extremely right alternative für deutschland (AFD), now the main opposition force in the Bundestag.

AFD wants to close German borders, deport migrants massively, the end belongings to weapons to Ukraine and re -opening its connection with Russia Putin.

Last week, AFD was officially classified as an extremist internal intelligence organization (BFV), rethinking a discussion on whether the party should be banned.

AFD has now stated that he was sued by BFV, accusing him of “abuse” power.

The “high time” has come to improve the relations between the German-polls, says Agnesko Pomaska, a member of the Polish Sejm and a member of the Prime Minister Donald Tusk Civic Platform.

“We have to invest together in the army in defense,” says Pomasca, who says the Government government was “politically weak” and “never easily cooperate with a government that is just weak.”
