Ukraine stated that it got into the drone team in the Kursk region, amid reports of fresh attempts to move to Russia.
According to the Ukrainian headquarters on Sunday, the attack on this unit was located near the Russian village of Tiotkin.
Many Russian military bloggers also reported that Ukrainian troops tried to move to the village, placing images – not yet checked BBC – vehicles that are breaking through traps on the border.
The reports came after Moscow claimed in April that he returned control of the entire region nine months after the Ukrainian troops launched an unexpected invasion. Kyiv insists that he still has soldiers working across the border.
On Monday, Ukrainian troops released missiles across the border and crossed minefields in special vehicles, bloggers reported.
“The enemy blew up bridges with rockets at night and in the morning an attack with armored vehicles,” said Rvvoenkor blogger, Reuters reports.
“The vehicles of the mine began to make passages in the minefields, after which armored vehicles with troops. A heavy battle occurs on the border.”
A statement on Monday, Ukraine said: “Nine months after the Operation Kursk, the defense forces of Ukraine support the military presence in the Russian region of Kursk.”
Although there were no official response from Moscow, some military bloggers also published cards that show that the opposite forces are trying to cross the border in two places towards Tyotkin – near where the drone team was beaten.
Meanwhile, in Sumy – about 12 km across the border from Tyotkin to northeast Ukraine – local authorities urged people to evacuate from two settlements, Reuters reports.
Initially, Ukraine made its surprise in Kursk in August 2024 to create a buffer zone and protect the Sami and the surrounding areas, and hoping to use it as a partition in future negotiations.
