Donald Trump says he directs his government to the opening and expansion of Alcatrace, a former prison on the island off the California coast.
In a report on his truth on the social site, President Trump said “too long America suffered vicious, violent and repetitive criminals.”
The restoration of the alcatrace would serve as a “symbol of the law, order and justice,” he said.
The prison was closed in 1963, and the island of Alcratras currently acts as a tourist site. It is located near the “Gold Gate” bridge San Francisco.
“Today I manage the Prison Bureau together with the Ministry of Justice, the FBI and the security of the Motherland to restore significantly expanded and restored Alcatras,” Trump wrote.
In prison, “the most ruthless and violent violators of America would be located.”
President Trump is facing the courts regarding his policy of sending gang members to prison in Salvador. In March, he sent a group of more than 200 alleged Venezuelan gang members there. He also spoke about sending “homegrown criminals” to foreign prisons.
Initially, Alcratras was a military -marital defense and it was Rebuilt in the early 20th century as a military prison.
