Arne Slot insisted that Liverpool showed why they are champions this afternoon A performance lower than 3-1 loss in Chelsea.

Slot rests the players strip
Slot said that he did not take too much from the performances of his players in the squad, adding: “They deserve to play these games because they have trained so strong this season. Every time they did so well, so I think they deserved to play this game. We do not judge them only in this game, we judge them every day on the field of training and in the moments that play for us.”
Slot won the title despite making only a signing last summer, that of Federico Chiesa, which he has hardly presented.
And the Dutch admitted that he could try to refresh things before Liverpool tried to retain his crown next season.
Asked if the fans can wait a great summer ahead, he said to Sky Sports: “It’s a great summer because we expanded Virgil (Van Dijk) and Mo (Salah) and for big parts of the season, I don’t think everyone was waiting for it.
“For us to keep them is an important thing. I have already said that I am happy with the workforce we have. We will see what summer brings, but sometimes it can be good to bring fresh energy. (But) only if we see someone in the market that can improve us.”
Happy Maresca praises the awesome Chelsea
Chelsea’s victory transferred them to 63 points, the same as Newcastle and one less than a third place in Manchester City than the race to get the champions league standings intensified.

He said: “Three very important points, especially in this phase of the season. This team (Liverpool) showed why they are so good. We were forced to defend deeply that we do not like.
“We planned that the game was aggressive, playing in the way we want and forced us to use a different plan. The players adapted quite well. For the amount of possibilities we created, we deserved to win the game.”
As for his first aspirations, he added: “Of course, Chelsea has to fight for the Champions League and, in hope, in the future we can fight for something more important. At this point we are there and we hope we can finish.”
