La Hoya’s promoter Oscar questions if Devin Haney’s chin can be repaired the year that has been outside the ring since his loss in Ryan Garcia last April. De la Hoya feels that the three times Haney, 26, were falling and the numerous times were injured in his fight with Ryan, they could have definitely deteriorated the chin.

This is bad for Haney (31-0, 15 kos), who had his loss erased by New York State Athletic Commission due to Garcia’s positive test for the forbidden Ped Ostarine. However, Haney fights against Fort Puncher Jose Ramirez (29-2, 18 kos) this Friday, May 2, in Times Square in New York City. The commission cannot do anything about Haney’s chin that has been cut off in Garcia’s struggle.
Race at risk?
De la Hoya feels that Haney has a heart, and says that he continued to raise -after being abandoned by Kingry last April. However, if Haney’s chin has disappeared from this struggle, his heart will not save him against Ramírez because he will hit him hard all night on his head. It will not take rest as Ryan did because he has a better engine.
We could see the beginning of the end of Devin’s race on Friday night if he was beaten and stopped by Ramírez. Haney worsens against other Welterweight fighters because many of them hit stronger than Ramírez and are much younger. Haney is too big to return to 140, and even if he did, he would be food for fighters like Gary Antuanne Russell, Alberto Puello and Richardson Hitchins.
“I think Devin has his hands full because he reaches a devastating tie. Then he will go to the ring thinking,” Oh, what happened to me in my last fight against Ryan? Wait a second. I have to deal with Ramirez. What will I do? “It’s a bit of confusion on Devin’s head,” said Hoya during the Big arrivals Monday in New York City.
Haney will fight against the way he always hurts, doing -spoiling and moving. We have seen his formula many times in fights against George Kamboses Jr. and records programs. He will try to frustrate Ramírez and be out of reach.
“Will you hit me? I’m going to ravage -Me? My chin is still the same? When you get out of struggle, confidence only falls,” said Hoya. “He (Haney) showed his heart. The heart is different. The chin, the chin cannot be repaired. Trust is removed.”
Ramírez will be run over because his coach, Robert Garcia, has told him this guy to go to Haney’s chin to follow what Ryan did. Ramírez will try to take advantage of what Garcia did in Devin focusing on his head.
The analogy of the brick wall
