“Friday night I made a tremendous mistake,” wrote Jax, 21, through Instagram On Sunday, April 27. “Shedeur, what I made was completely unforgivable, embarrassing and shameful. I’m sorry I had taken from your moment, it was selfish and childish.”

“I could never imagine preparing to celebrate one of the biggest moments of your life and I made a terrible mistake and a mess with that moment,” he concluded. “Thank you for receiving my call earlier today, I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me. @Shedeursanders.”

The incident happened on Friday, April 25, when Sanders, 23, stayed to be selected on day 2 of the NFL draft. (Sanders, who was a quarter of the University of Colorado Boulder, had been projected as a first -round choice.)

Update – 4/26/25, 2:42 pm ET: The Cleveland Browns confirmed through X that they chose a quarterback shedeur sanders as the 144th overall selection in the fifth round on Saturday, April 26. This means that Sanderst is a sixth quarter -quarter taken in the 2025 draft.

In the shared video through social media, Sanders received a call from someone imitating the general manager of New Orleans Mickey Loomis. Since then the falcons have addressed the situation in a shared statement to Espn’s Adam schet.

“Earlier in the week, Jax Ulbrich, 21 -year -old son Jeff Ulbrich defensive coordinator, became inadvertently across the draft contact phone number for Shedeur Sanders off an open iPad while visiting his parent’s home and wrote the number down to hold a later pranc call,” he read the statement, who shared Schefter by sharing it through X on Sunday. “Jeff Ulbrich was unaware of the data exposure or any aspects of the pranc and was made aware of the above only after the fact.”

The statement noted that the falcons do not “condone this behavior” and “send our sincere apologies” to Sanders and his family, noting that they had been in touch. The NFL team claimed he also facilitated an apology from Jax to the Sanders family.

“We have also been in contact with the NFL and will continue to cooperate fully with any queries we could receive from the NFL Alliance Office,” the statement concluded. “We review all protocols thoroughly, and update if necessary, to help prevent an event like this from happening again.”
