Lewis and Gvardiol Secure FA CUP Final Berth

Manchester City took its site in the FA Cup final against Crystal Palace with a 2-0 victory over Nottingham Forest.

Only one point separates the city and the forest in the busy struggle for the qualification of the Champions League in the Premier League, but the men of Pep Guardiola were much higher than Wembley.

Rico Lewis put City in front of the second minute with the first shot of the game, and after Anthony Elanga lost an opportunity for a golden level shortly after his introduction after the interval, Josko Gvardiol won 2-0.

Forest threatened to return to the game spectacularly when Morgan Gibbs-White flew against the crossbar, and the same man was the victim of more misfortune when he hit the post with the goal with his mercy, summarizing a very disappointing day for the men of Nuno Esperito Santo.

Nottingham Forest against Manchester City

Lewis did not waste time to put in the city when a low car flowed beyond the immersion of Matz Sels and the lower left corner.

The city rarely threatened to be built in the first half, although Nico O’Reilly fired closely in the right side in the middle of the opening period.

Elanga’s introduction to Danilo’s site made Forest more a threat, but he flew his lines of the Low Cross of Left of Callum Hudson Odoi after the defense of the city.

Forest was paid for this lady shortly after.

Sels made brilliantly to deny Matheus Nunes and handball appeals after Mateo Kovacic tracking was blocked. However, Gvardiol increased the highest of the post -leadership of Double City.

This advantage was halved when Gibbs-White’s magnificent volley nailed the carpentry, which was hit again after the midfielder stole Gvardiol in the box and rounded Stefan Ortega.

Taiwo Awoniyi also saw an effort near the target frame framework, with the Gibbs-White follow-up maintained by Ortega as Forest continued Huff and Puff in search of a goal that would give them a shin of late hope.

A late change would have been suitable for a team who had defied the odds of the Premier League this season, but in the end, their lost chain of opportunities were regretted.

Nuno seemed heartbreaking at the end of a game where his decision not to play Elanga from the beginning retreated and saw that his team abandoned the defensive strength that defined his actions in 2024-25.

It means that the city still has the opportunity to rescue a trophy of a season that has done well in its expectations. The Forest must be focused quickly to ensure that they are not disappointed at the end of a campaign that has drastically surpassed his.
