The slot pays musical tribute to Klopp

Arne Slot assured himself of paying tribute to Jurgen Klopp by the foundation he left in Liverpool after making the title of the Premier League in his first season.

Liverpool only needed a point against Tottenham to get a 20th English League title that was a record, and although they fell back into a head of Dominic Solanke, they finally reached their style goal.

Luis Diaz equalized before Alexis Macallister and Cody Gakpo gave the Liverpool command before half the time, with the 28th goal of Mohamed Salah of the season and a goal of Destiny Udogie ended with a 5-1 emphatic victory.

Liverpool has an inappropriate 15 -point advantage over second -place arsenal with four games to play and has twice lost in the league all season.

But when he asked Sky Sports, how he had made things so easy in his first season in English football, Slot immediately praised the predecessor Klopp, who lowered his historic possession curtain to the club at the end of last season. Klopp won the Premier League with Liverpool in 2019-20, although he and the players could not celebrate it with the fans due to the coronavirus pandemic.

“This is not only my job, it is the work of the players and members of the staff and the work Jurgen and Pepijn (Lijnders) left behind here,” said Slot.

“The culture of the team, the work rate, the quality was excellent. We all knew it. We started very well and maybe it helped a little that (Manchester) City had a difficult spell, which they had not had in five years.

“When the season started, everyone would have been happy if we were in the top four in the Champions League, but I don’t think it was fair to our players because they are much better than this and this is what they have shown this season.”

Slot paid a more public tribute to Klopp while heading to the crowd.

Klopp, who also led Liverpool to two runners -up finishes where they surpassed more than 90 points when they arrived in the city along with a route of seven other trophies that included the Champions League, sang the name Slot in Anfield when he said it was fired last May.

And Slot returned the favor while celebrating the historical triumph of the Reds, with the multitude of Anfield who did not show any kind of hesitation in joining the affection for Klopp.

Liverpool has four more games to play and will lift the trophy on May 25 in the final of the season against Crystal Palace.

“It’s special and it’s something we don’t take for granted. It’s amazing,” said Captain Virgil Van Dijk in Sky Sports.

“Many emotions before the game, throughout the week, but we did the job and we (we are) deserved champions of England.

“(Liverpool is) the most beautiful club in the world and I think we deserve all this. We enjoy the coming weeks and leave it -sink.”
