Pep Guardiola praised Mateo Kovacic as an “extraordinary” after Manchester City reached the FA Cup final with a 2-0 victory over the Nottingham Forest.
City advanced to a third final of the FA CUP successive thanks to the goals of Rico Lewis and Josko Gvardiol, the first that Kovacic put in the second minute.
The Croatian was at the exit of Wembley, where the forest hit the carpentry three times in the second half while looking for a route to the contest.
Despite the misfortune of Forest, the city was deserved winner, as they kept their hope of rescuing the platform for a disappointing season.
And Guardiola praised the former Real Madrid midfielder and Chelsea Kovacic after they reserved a meeting with Crystal Palace on May 17.
“Kovacic is extraordinary. The last three or four games have been incredible,” Guardiola told ITV Sport.
“At his age he can’t play every three days, but we are fortunate to have time to recover -we need for the quality and composition he has.”
Guardiola used the same adjective to describe Lewis, who broke the deadline with the first shot of the party.
“I am smart, but it is not enough to see -marking Lewis),” said Guardiola. “Its positioning in your pockets is extraordinary.

“It was a good start. The way to play, they did not allow them to make many transitions where they are so dangerous. They did not reach much in the final third with the crosses with the wood (Chris), etc.
“In the game they had the possibility, this is a team that with a game in hand is better than us at the Premier League.
“They created a little more than in the game we played there one or two months ago (at the Premier League). They are a fantastic team. I generally liked most of the things we did.
“Seven semi -finals in a row and three finals in a row … It’s not bad!”
Morgan Gibbs-White struck the crossbar and inside the pole for Forest, while Taiwo Awoniyi also reached the post.
“A few months ago the ball enters the stick,” Guardiola said about the fortune of the city in the second half. “It goes on one side or the other side. Everything is on the head, in the minds of the players.”
City now has to put itself back in its champion league football struggle next season. Guardiola’s men are fourth, a point ahead of the Forest, in sixth place, played one more game, with five teams ranked for the Champions League this season.
“If you said that three years ago you would reach three finals of the Cup in a row, come. It’s amazing,” said Guardiola.
“We now have four finals to go to the Premier League and we have to recover and go back against the wolves (Friday).”
