Long before the Cleveland Browns pick his son Shedeur In the fifth of the NFL 2025 draft round on Saturday, April 26, Deion Sanders The team tasted on social media.
“I love what the browns have done this offseason, but if I’m a young QB, don’t I go to Cleveland,” wrote the NFL legend in a tweet posted in 2018. “I would draw Eli Manning if possible,” he continued, alongside the #Truth hashtag.
(Eli ManningThe No. 1 draft selection for the NFL was chosen in 2004, by the San Diego Chargers but refused to play for the team, which then sent it to the New York Giants.)
Deion’s tweet was resurrected seconds after the draft Shedeur choice was finally announced. The Browns chose Shedeur as the 144th choice in the 5th draft round this year – a prominent fall of draft projections that had the quarterback being selected as high as the first round.
Shedeur began his college career in 2021 in Jackson State, where Deion was the head coach. He left the pair for Colorado after the 2022 season. In his older year, Shedeur completed 74.0% of his passes, with 37 touches and 10 interglasses and was greatly named 12 offensive players a year.
Many were surprised that Shedeur had fallen into the fifth round of the draft, though some point to Deion as part of the reason why the young quarter seemed to be able to curry a favor with the 32 NFL teams. While some celebrate his personality and confidence more than life, others are repeled by the same energy.
If there is one thing you can say definitely about Deion, he is an avid fan for his son. Back in May 2024 He told someone on X that Shedeur would be a “top 5 choice” and has maintained that energy ever since.
But things didn’t work out for the young athlete, and NFL insists told Tom Pelissero that there were a few reasons why. “The worst formal interview I have ever been in my life,” said one person, who remained anonymous, from Shedeur’s alleged and alleged discussions with members of New York Leadership. “He has so much right. He takes unnecessary sacks. He never plays in time. He has a horrific body language. He blames fellow players … but the biggest thing is, it’s not that good.”
Shedeur responded to some of the criticisms leveled on him at the NFL Complement in February 2025. “You think I’m worried about what critics are saying or what do people have to say?” He asked correspondents. “You know who my dad is? They hate him too.”
After the first round of the draft came and went without the name of Shedeur, Deion turned to religion. “My Bible says that God uses the foolish things to confuse the wise and chose the weak things of the world that he could give them to shame the strong!” Posted Deist By x On Friday, April 25. “Know that God has done it and God really begins. Enjoy this lesson and stop stressing. #Coachprime”
