A woman in Brazil went to prison for 14 years after writing an offensive in a lipstick on the statue during the riots in Brazil.
Rodriguez’s Debora took part in the excitement in January 2023, along with hundreds of former President Jir Balssan.
As a result of the riot, thousands of Bolsonar supporters attacked government buildings after the election loss last year.
The justice of Cristiano Zanin, one of the five judges who came out on the case of Rodriguez, emphasized that she was not tried solely for graffiti and were convicted of numerous crimes.
Rodriguez was arrested as part of a broader investigation allegedly a coup station against the recently elected President Lula to Silva.
She was convicted of numerous crimes, including the destruction of property, membership in criminal organization and participation in a coup attempt.
The 39-year-old hairdresser apologized for writing “You lost, idiot” on the statue of justice outside the Supreme Federal Court, called “Lipstick”.
Rodriguez claims that she did not participate in any violence.
Earlier in court, she claimed that she was a “good citizen”.
“I went to protests and did not imagine that they would be so violent,” Rodriguez said. “I have never done anything illegal in my life.”
Rodriguez’s lawyers said they did not enter the buildings during the riots and acted impulsively in the “heat of this point”. She regretted her actions.
Justice Alexander de Moraz, presiding in this case, claimed that Rodriguez “deliberately and voluntarily” leveled himself with protesters seeking to overthrow the government.
He added that Rodriguez confessed that he had participated in anti -democratic actions in his testimony to the police, and that the gaps in her telephone messages suggested that she tried to hide the evidence.
The case became the main point for Bolsonar supporters, who view Rodriguez as a victim of political persecution, and claim that the Supreme Court has become too powerful and guerrilla.
In February, Rodriguez’s video became viral on social media. Next month, Balsanar shared a message about X, calling on an amnesty for those who participate in civil unrest in 2023.
Bolsonar also faces a criminal case over the coup attempt. If he is found guilty, he faces more than 40 years in prison.
