Police said six police officers were killed in Thailand after their plane crashed into the sea during a parachute test flight.
On Friday, a small aircraft was spotted in the Cha-am area, which crashed into the water at about 08:00 local time (1:00 GMT), southwest of Bangkok to the southwest of Bangkok.
The Royal Thai police said in a statement on Facebook that five officers were killed at the scene and the sixth later died in the hospital.
Authorities are studying a black aircraft data recorder to determine the cause of the accident.
Local media said the plane was about 100 meters from the shore, while the footage shared on the Internet showed that people get to the sea to get to the place of the catastrophe.
The killed officers were three pilots, one engineer and two mechanics, the police confirmed.
“The Royal Thai police expresses its deepest condolences to the brave officers who have lost their lives,” the statement added.
The Kitrat police chief, a fanfeet, who visited the scene with other officials, said the initial investigations showed that the plane was heading to the houses, but his pilots managed to maneuver him toward the sea, avoiding further death outcomes.
Photos later on Friday showed that the wreckage of the plane that lay a part, tank on small water.
