In a violent nature Finally streaming on Hulu, and I had to fire this flic immediately to see what all the fuss was when he was doing his theatrical rounds. As I am the only film of her kind (I know) that spends most of her running time following the murderer perspective, I was very interested in seeing exactly how these undead, slow walkers hold up to their victims who more often than not run away from them at such a breaking speed. I think I’ve got the answer I’m looking for, and it’s much simpler than you would think: if you set up a bear trap in the woods and a murderer starts to persecute you, don’t step in the Bear Trap.
My favorite part for In a violent nature is how over -sympathetic its narrative framework is. Seven friends are holidays in the woods, one of which is a lack of a dormant fire tower. As it happens, that locker fulfills a very specific purpose, and that is to keep Johnny’s soul (Ry Barrett) in a state of rest. Ultimately, we get some backstage about the significance of this locket, and how Johnny died in the Firetower decades before that when a cruel prank went wrong, and that’s all you need to know because just need something to get Johnny out of the ground so In a violent nature can become blood.
As the group of friends broke apart from doing their own thing during the day after robbing themselves the night before, In a violent nature Starting to warm up because they do not necessarily have a compelling reason to believe that Johnny is anything other than urban myth. That is, until Johnny begins to kill the friends away, one by one. As we see almost everything from Johnny’s perspective as he brings his subjects, just a glimpse of the panic that friends experience as they first argue whether the lost parties of their group simply enjoy the scenes on a single enterprise, or have they dismantled somewhere in the woods.
I don’t want to sound like a psychopath when talking about In a violent natureBut it is very easy to root for Johnny as he murdered everyone in this path in ways I will not spell out here because you are best to experience these sequences for yourself. First of all, all victims are superficial, unlikely and one dimension, through design. Think of the teenagers in the original Friday the 13th film; Just because you witness the terrorism do they experience it as they run by some unknown striker.
Secondly, you must seriously consider Johnny’s perspective, and realize that he is also a victim who is simply seeking revenge. The children disturbed his slumber by stealing the locket, and wants to return to rest alone. That is, while Johnny is barbaric with his executions, he simply tries to get back underground the only way he knows how.
If you need more convincing to look In a violent natureThe sound design is all you need to suck into the atmosphere that this film creates through its scenes. As Johnny Lumbers through the woods in silence, every peak snap and a piece of dialogue comes from his victims in the distance increases your senses because you know exactly what’s going to happen next – you don’t know when. And through every long trace shot that follows Johnny, the sound of Babbling and Chirping Brocks makes his quiet attempt for killing much more unluckily because of how peaceful his surroundings are.
So when you go around to stream finally In a violent nature On Hulu, make sure you have a good pair of strapped headphones to your dome because it increases your awareness and elevates the tone ten times.
