Indian broadcasters Fancode and Sony Sports Network have suspended their coverage of continuous Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025After a deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. The movement was a sign of respect for the victims of the attack and in protest of violence.
On April 22, 2025, a terrorist attack in Pahalgam killed 26 Indian tourists, causing widespread outrage and mourning throughout the country.
Fancode, the digital platform that officially transmitted the PSL to India, immediately stopped all live flows after the attack. He also eliminated all the content related to PSL from his platform, including the highlights and the schedules of the coincidences. Sony Sports Network, who celebrated the television broadcasting rights for the PSL in India, continued the same, leaving all the programmed broadcasts of the league matches.
Neither Fancode nor Sony Sports Network have published an official statement that details the duration of the suspension or if the coverage will resume on a later date. However, the sources of the two broadcasting companies indicate that the decision was made in response to the national sentiment and as a brand of solidarity with the families of the victims.

The suspension of PSL emissions in India highlights the complex relationship between sports and policies, particularly in the context of Indian-Pakistan relationships. Although some argue that sports should remain separate from political issues, others believe that these events cannot be seen in isolation, especially when national security and feeling are involved.
Long -term political tensions between India and Pakistan have often affected Cricket events, and the latter development is another example of how these tensions can alter the world of cricket.
