Considering the fact that Bumrah has troubled the Aussies, the Aussie skipper Pat Cummins now he’s revealed his strategy for dealing with the sense of rhythm.

Pat Cummins reveals Australia’s strategy for Jasprit Bumrah

During the pre-match press conference, Cummins appreciated the kind of momentum Bumrah has created throughout the series and admitted the fact that the Indian pacer poses a significant challenge for the Australian team.

“Bumrah is bowling well at the moment. He’s always tough. Hopefully when he comes in, late in the day, he’s bowled a bit, which might make it a bit easier. But he’s bowling well . I’ve faced him quite a bit around the world in different formats, and he always poses a challenge.” Cummins said.

Clandestinely, Cummins also recalled the manner in which the Aussies dealt with Bumrah’s attack during the previous Test in Melbourne.

“The last game, it helped me, as I was at the end of the non-striker. That definitely helped.” Cummins added more.

Bumrah put in a stellar performance in the Boxing Day Test match in Melbourne, which India eventually lost. During Australia’s second innings, India’s pace attack took back-to-back Australian wickets to put pressure on the home team. Cummins and Marnus Labuschagne then he stabilized the Australian innings and came up with the plan that the sevens batsman, Labuschagne in this case, would play against Bumrah while Cummins would face the Indian bowler at the other end. This strategy worked and the Australians were rescued from a critical position from 91/6 to 148/7 before Labuschagne’s dismissal. The Australians scored 234 runs in their second innings which ultimately set the tone for their victory in Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
