Jason Kelce Unable to resist cheering fun in one of his brother Travis KelceOld tweets.
“Before we jump into it, we’re going to talk a little bit about the Easter weekend,” said Jason, 37, at the top of his and Travis’ “New Heights” podcast On Wednesday, April 23.
Jason was referring to one of Travis’s tweets from April 2010, who read, “Happy Easter to everyone !!! #shoutout to Jesus for Takin One for the team … haha.”
“Listen, we do not give Jesus enough shouting for taking one to the team, if we are all honest,” Jason quoted during the podcast. While Travis, 35, called his tweet “so f *** ing Dumb,” agreed that Jesus was the “best leader out there.”
They are brothers and two of the most prolific stars of the NFL – but Jason and Travis Kelce became “months” once talking to each other. Jason went on to a joke that his “favorite part” of the post was the “‘haha’ at the end.” Travis explained that he “wanted to make sure everyone knows that I have a good time joking about this, but we can’t take it too seriously (ly).”
As well as the religious aspects of the holidays, Travis said he also enjoyed having “no school” during the Easter term as a child. “Is that why this was tweeted?” Jason asked, and Travis answered, “Of course.”
While cracking up, Jason added, “I thought it was a realization that this man died for our sins. It was just about the free day. That’s so good. That’s great.”
Before wrapping the discussion, Travis realized that he didn’t get off school on Easter itself, as the holidays always happened on Sundays. Instead, he was actually thinking about Good Friday.
“You usually get on Easter Monday (off) sometimes,” Jason noted. “Our girls are off Easter Monday.” (Jason shares four girls -Wyatt, 5, Ellie, 4, Bennett, 2, and Finn 1 month old-with his wife, Kylie Kelce.)
