Jimmy Kimmel shares a health update on Billy’s Son for -8th anniversary

Jimmy Kimmel He has another big reason to celebrate his youngest child.

“Today is Billy’s 8th birthday,” Kimmel, 57, wrote through Instagram On Monday, April 21.

Minutes after he was born, Billy had to be rushed to emergency heart surgery. Months later, he had to have a second open heart surgery.

In May 2024, Jimmel confirmed that his son had been Third and “hopefully final” Open heart surgery to have a valve in his heart.

To celebrate Billy’s latest milestone, Kimmel asked fans and followers to pay on and support Los Angeles Children’s Hospital as they work to save more daily lives.

In response to the post, Los Angeles Children’s Hospital wished Billy a happy birthday before expressing their thanks for Kimmel’s vocal support.

“We are so honored to be part of your journey,” wrote the hospital in the comments department. “Thank you, Jimmy, for your continued support and for shining light on the incredible strength of children like Billy.”

Kimmel – who also shares Jane’s daughter, 10, with his wife Molly McNearney and Katie, 33, and Kevin, 31, with ex-wife Gina maddy – has been open about Billy’s health battles since he was born.

He has also continued to thank the doctors and healthcare workers who have cared for his son.

After Billy received his third surgery open to the heart, the Jimmy Kimmel alive! The host was quick to thank the hospital staff for their “kindness and immeasurable expertise.”

“Walking around this hospital, meeting parents in their most vulnerable, children in pain and the miraculous workers who do everything in their significant power to save is a humble experience,” he wrote through Instagram. “We hope you never need CLA, but if you do – know that they are helping families regardless of their ability to pay, thanks to a large extent to the Affordable Care Act (another greeting to the late Senator John McCain), generous donations from companies like Disney, which I am proud to work for and especially from generous people like you.”

Kimmel added, “Nothing is more important than caring for each other.”
