Rory McIlroy He has plans to return on the state side after making a celebration tour to his hometown following his Master’s victory.
McIlroy, 35, will be on hand to compete alongside his friend Shane Lowry When the Zurich Classic of New Orleans Tees away on Thursday, April 24. A Zurich classic is the only two -man team event Fedex Cup PGA Tour. McIlroy and Lowry, 38, won last year’s event.
“We’ll be there,” said Lowry Golf Week. “I spoke to him (Wednesday) morning. We’re good to go.”
Lowry added, “To be honest, I didn’t want him to feel like he had to play because of me. He doesn’t disappoint me if he wanted to take some time. He feels like he wants to go back out there. He feels next week is a good week to do. So, yes, we’ll be there.”
McIlroy won his unwanted first master title on April 13, becoming a sixth golfer in history to win the Grand Slam career.
On Friday, April 18, McIlroy fly on private jet to Ireland with a 4 year old girl Poppy is pulling. McIlroy’s wife, Erica stollobviously absent from the foreign jaunt.

Lowry – who has been close friends with McIlroy since their days as younger golfers growing up in Ireland – said he was “riding the emotions just like everyone else” watching McIlroy defeating Justin Rose in a sudden death -playing hole to secure his masters’ victory.
“I was happy for him because of everything that had happened in the past and because of what might have been if he hadn’t gone his way,” Lowry reflected. “It’s one of your good friends who makes the grand slam. It’s not something to smell. It may never happen again in my lifetime.”
The career grand sport is achieved when a golfer wins a Master’s Championship, the US Open Championship and the PGA Championship throughout their career. McIlroy won the masters during his 17th appearance in the historic tournament.
“This is the best day of my golf life and I’m very proud of myself, proud to never give up,” McIlroy said after the tournament. “I’m proud of how I came back and dust myself and not let the disappointments arrive at me. It’s a realization dream. I’ve dreamed of this moment for as long as I can remember.”
McIlroy continued, “This feels amazing. This is my 17th time, and I started to wonder if this would be my time. I think the last 10 years of coming here with the burden of the grand slam on my shoulders, weighing up with me and I wonder what we’re going to talk about going into next year’s masters.
