The President of Salvador suggested repatrilate to 252 Venezuelans, deported by the United States and imprisoned in his country – if Venezuela releases the same number of political prisoners.
Naib Bokele addressed the President of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro as social media.
He said that many of the Venezuelan deported committed “rape and murder”, while Venezuelan political prisoners went to prison only because they opposed Maduro, which was widely disputed last year.
The Venezuelan government claims that it does not have political prisoners – a lawsuit rejected by groups of rights.
In a report on X, Bookel wrote: “I want to offer you (Maduro) a humanitarian agreement that called for a repatriation of 100% of 252 Venezuelans who were deported, in exchange for release … equal among thousands of political prisoners.”
He also mentioned almost 50 prisoners of other nationalities, including US citizens, as part of the proposed swap.
The Venezuelan government has not publicly commented on the proposal of the Booke.
In recent weeks, more than 200 Venezuelans have been sent from the United States to Salvador.
Presidential Administration Donald Trump accuses them of being members of the criminal gang Traga de Aragua.
Washington pays El Salvador to keep deported at its notorious high -security terrorism center.
Since his post in January, Trump has faced a number of legal obstacles.
In the last development, The US Supreme Court on Saturday ordered Washington to stop the deportation of another group of alleged Venezuelan gang members.
The White House called problems using the law for mass deportations “without the merit of the trial”.
Trump has sent the accused members of the Venezuelan gang gang in accordance with the law on foreign enemies in 1798, which gives the president to delay and deport the natives or citizens of “opponents” countries without ordinary processes.
