2025 is a big year for TV – but which shows do we know for sure are coming back for more seasons?
Apple TV+ surprised viewers by renewing Bad Monkey after the ending left the future of the show unclear. Based on the novel of the same name by Carl Hiaasen, Bad Monkey follows former police detective Andrew Yancy (Vince Vaughn) who is demoted to a restaurant inspector before being drawn into a murder investigation when a severed arm is pulled out of the water.
While Bad Monkey seemingly wrapped up every story line, there was still hope. Natalie Martinezwho plays Rosa’s love interest aka Yancyis reported only Us Weekly in October 2024 that “the possibilities are endless” before addressing the shocking split of the main on-screen couple.
“There is a lot of love between Rosa and Yancy. It’s helped him in so many ways and there’s definitely a great camaraderie here,” he shared. “They really like each other and at that moment he says, ‘It’s not goodbye, he’ll see you later.’ So I think the possibilities are endless there – where they’re part of each other’s critical moment.”
Competitors on Hulu is another show that have more time to explore the story. Season 1 introduced a feud between two men fighting for control of a British TV station in the 1980s, but ultimately it was the age-gap romance between Rupert (Alex Hassell) and Taggie (Bella MacLean) — a Declan (Aidan Turner) presence – the fans won over.
“I’m very interested. There are so many obstacles in our way and Rupert is very morally conflicted. I wonder what will happen now with Taggie,” MacLean said exclusively Us in December 2024 approx the future of Rupert and Taggie. “It will be a lot bumpier, but what that means for Taggie is a very interesting thing. There are loads of ideas being thrown around. We have to get a season 2 fast.”
