Colin Farrell explained the difficult decision of giving his 21 -year -old son James Farrell in a long -term care facility.
“It’s hard – some parents will say, ‘I want to look after my own child,’ and I respect that,” said Colin, 48, in an interview with Candis Magazine Published in April, via The independent.

“My horror would be, what if I had a heart attack tomorrow, and, God banned, James’s mother, Kim, has a car accident and she has taken too – and then James is alone?” The actor noted. “(He would) be a state ward. And he goes where? We wouldn’t have any voice in it.”
Colin said he felt it was better for James to have his son in a healthy environment “while we are still alive and well, we can go to visit, and we can take him out sometimes.”
“We want him to find somewhere where he can have a full and happy life, where he feels connected,” he added. “By going out there every day and going to the supermarket and doing the shopping together. By going to the beach, museums, movies, all those. Just a related life.”
