Brazilian Doctor Kat Torres She rose to fame on social media because of her welfare content – but things took a sinister turn.
Torres, who is currently jailed, had millions of social media fans and built a brand off self -help videos and a welfare subscription service. The disgraceful internet star also claimed that it had spiritual powers and was associated with its followers at a deeper level.
However, it became the focus of an FBI investigation that led to the arrest of 2024.

Who is Kat Torres?
Before her career on the internet, Torres was a model girl and a pageant girl in her native Brazil.
Multiple followers to the BBC claimed in interviews published in July 2024 that they felt they felt “isolated” from friends and family as they went deeper with Torres and its content. One even uncovered their life to become a Living in Torres assistant.

Eventually, their “profiles on escort and prostitution websites were discovered.” At this point, Torres had moved from Texas to Maine with the women – who asked for the search to stop – pulling. In November 2022, a welfare check went off the enforcement of the law and the lost women were back home in Brazil the following month.

“When I saw the people attesting, they were saying so many lies,” he claimed. “There is so much lie that I couldn’t once stop laughing.”
He added: “You choose to believe whatever you choose to believe. I can tell you that I am Jesus. And you can see Jesus, or you can see the devil, that’s it. It’s your choice. It’s your mind.”
Torres was convicted of trafficking in people and slavery and sentenced to eight years in prison in July 2024. (She has appealed against the conviction.)
