Gujarat Titans (GT) have officially announced the signature of Sri Lanka All-Rounder Dasun Shanaka As a replacement of the Nova Zealand Cricleter Glenn phillips for the rest of the Indian Premier (IPL) 2025. The franchise confirmed the development on Friday morning, strengthening its workforce, as they aimed at another successful campaign.
Glenn Phillips discarded IPL 2025 due to groin injuries
Glenn Phillips, which was purchased by Gujarat Titans by a sum of chror Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) Earlier this month. The injury turned out to be serious enough to rule out the tournament. Phillips returned to New Zealand on April 12, without having the opportunity to run in any of the Gujarat Titanas matches this season, a significant blow to their plans.
Dasun Shamanaka returns to Gujarat Titans at your base price
His Phillips replacement is Dasun Shanaka’s family face. Sri Lanka All-Rounder represented formerly Gujarat Titans During its successful season IPL 2023. It has been signed at its base price of 75 INR lakes. In his previous career with the franchise, Shanaka played three games, contributing 26 runs to the cause of the team.
Shanaka brings great experience to the Gujarat line. The young man, 33, is an experienced campaign at the T20 International Arena, having played 102 games in Sri Lanka. He has accumulated 1,456 runs with the bat and has also proven to be a valuable bowling option, collecting 33 doctors in his career T20I. In addition, Shamanaka has represented Sri Lanka in 71 an international day and 6 test games, showing his versatility in all formats of the game. Above all, he captured Sri Lanka’s team for Victoria in the Asia Cup in 2022, demonstrating his leadership qualities.
