India captain Rohit Sharma shared his thoughts on team preparation for the next five -game test series against England.
The 37-year-old batter stated that Pacers like Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami should adapt 100 percent after the season IPL 2025.
India is scheduled to begin its new cycle of the World Test Championship (WTC) with the Testing series in England this summer.
Blue men will wait to bounce after being unable to qualify for the final of the WTC 2023-25 cycle. Above all, they have not won a victory of the English soil test series since 2007.
Speaking about the Cricket Podcast beyond 23, Rohit Sharma said that India approached to win the series of tests on his previous tour of England.
He stated that the physical form of Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami will be vital for India’s success in the next series.
“Absolutely. The last time we played these boys, it was 2-2. We need some of these boys (Bumrah and Shami) to be 100 percent,” Rohit Sharma said in the podcast beyond 23.
India made a 2-1 lead on the tour 2021-2022 before the final game was postponed due to Covid-19. England won the fifth test after almost a year.
Jasprit Bumrah suffered an injury to the back during the border-Gavaskar trophy. The quick diaper of the right arm had to lose several games in the season IPL 2025.
In the same video, Rohit Sharma said that Bumrah and Shami should conclude the IPL 2025 in good physical condition. He added that if the team is fully in shape, they will configure them for a strong and competitive series in England.
“We just assured us of the IPL very well. This is the most difficult. I know there are only four superviers, but you play today, travel tomorrow and then play again. This is the difficult part, traveling all over the country, and it is difficult. I hope these two boys, along with the other boys, leave the IPL,” added Rohit.
“If we have a team so that it goes to England, we will have a great series. It will be a good challenge for us.”
The next five -rate series will start in Headingley on June 20. After the series workshop, the remaining parties will take place in Birmingham from July 2 to 6, at Lord’s from 10 to 14 July, at Old Trafford from July 23 to 27, and will conclude in the Oval from July 31 to 4 on August 4.
