Sudan’s paramilitaries announced the formation of a competitor government into the country’s armed forces, two years into the war that became The world’s largest humanitarian crisis.
The Fast Support Forces leader (RSF) Mohammed Hamdan “Hemedti” has stated that the group “creates a single realistic future for Sudan”.
The announcement happened when a high -level conference was held in London to Mark Second anniversary The conflict when British Foreign Minister David Lami called for a “way to peace”.
The fighting fights were dispersed, and the army stated that RSF was bombing outside the city of El Fasher, forcing hundreds of thousands to leave Zamzam’s refugee camp.
Hemedti said that RSF creates a “state of law”, not a state managing people.
“We are not looking for domination, but unity. We believe that no tribe, region or religion has a monopoly over the Sudanese identity,” his statement on Telegram said.
He added that his government would provide the necessary services, such as education and health care not only for the control of RSF, but the whole country.
According to recent RSF attacks, more than 400 people were killed in the UN, citing “reliable sources”.
Two years in the war, both the army and the RSF were accused of war crimes, including genocide and mass sexual violence.
On April 15, 2023, Hededti was closed in the fight against the authorities with the Chief of the Sudan Army, General Abdel Fattakh al-Burhan, creating a humanitarian crisis that took over 150,000 lives and moved more than 12 million.
Recent battles in the capital of Northern Darfur, El Fosher, forced tens of thousands of civilians from the Zamzam refugee camp to get 70 km (43 miles) to Tavila, Medical Charity MSF reports.
Many came greatly dehydrated and some children died of thirst.
Humanitarian agencies have reported the conditions similar to hunger facing more than 700,000 people in temporary camps around El Fasher, with the security threats and the checkpoints thwarted critical assistance.
During an international meeting on Tuesday, the UK promised an additional £ 120 million ($ 159 million) of food and medical care, urging the world not to return to Sudan.
“Many gave up Sudan – this is wrong – it is morally wrong when we see as many civilians who cut off their heads, babies, as one who had been sexually abused, more people who are hungry than anywhere else in the world … We just can’t take the look,” Lami said.
The conference also called for an immediate and permanent ceasefire, but the African Union said it would not allow the country to share the army and the RSF.
