John Travolta with a Captain Kangaroo hair cut dressed as a British Bobby stalking Devon Sawa in a film written and directed by Fred Durst by Limp Bizkit. If you need to take a deep breath and re -read that sentence, I don’t blame you because all the mental preparation you can get before streaming 2019’s The fanatic. An uncomfortable but unintentional examination of parasocial relationships, The fanatic In a pretty one note movie with… suspicious performances they don’t feel like they exist in the real world.
But if you are willing to take a short discovery to this few askew, alternate Fred Durst released from his imagination, then you are in a wild journey full of stalking, strawberry milkshake, fantasy world takes over that crazed whole fan, and that, and being, and that, and that, and John Travolta saying he can’t speak long because he’s “having to poo.”
Devon Sawa is reversed
The fanatic has been compared to movies like The fan and Paparazz For the same look at the harmful effects of parasocial relationships, but the most suitable, somewhat modern comparison I could think of featuring an eminem “Stan” music video, where Devon Sawa portrayed a crazed fan fan taking extreme measures to feel seen and heard by his favorite rapper. In completely reversing a role, Hunter Dunbar is at the end of receiving Obsessive Moose Machinations, and I was not lost the irony because it appears to be a deliberate casting option for Durst.
Sincere in his superfandom to blame, Moose is a sympathetic character in The fanatic Because he is on the autism spectrum, living alone in Los Angeles, and occupies a fantasy world that celebrates the life and career of Hunter Dunbar, his favorite horror and acting movie star. Spending all his rare gains as a street performer on Memorabilia Film, Moose lives a simple life – one that is made by the company that Hunter Films provide.
When Moose finally gets a chance to meet his hero in a book signature, Hunter is short with him, who leaves a bad taste in his mouth because he not only failed to get a signature, Hunter was unnecessary.
Dunbar Hunter can also be considered as a sympathetic character in The fanaticAs Moose is simply caught on a bad day-he deals with the kind of stress that a recent but extremely busy film star faces, as he shares his son’s custody with his ex-wife, Brenda (Jessica Uberuaga), and has problems with insomnia of the stress of the whole. Add a stalking position to the equation, and you’re going to have a bad time.
Sometimes friends steer you in the wrong direction
Moose’s best friend The fanaticLeah (Ana Golja), a paparazzi photographer, makes a very erroneous judgment call when she is informed of an app that lists celebrities’ addresses living in the Los Angeles area. I’ll bet you wonder, “What could possibly go wrong if a man like Moose got a Dunbar Hunter Address?” And it goes exactly how you would expect it. In several scenes reminiscent of Robin Williams’ performance One hour photoMoose makes his way into the residence of Hunter to lay the country, see how his hero lives when he is not on the big screen, and to use his toothbrush and access his fridge for snacks.

When Hunter Dunbar falls asleep after taking his insomnia medicine, Moose takes selfies with him and uploaded them to his social media accounts, without realizing how crazy his behavior is because he is exactly where he wants to be in life.
Hard to watch but completely entertaining
At the end of the day, The fanatic Derivatively, one dimension, and leaves very little to the imagination as far as its narrative structure goes. However, I have to give props to John Travolta for fully committing to Moose’s role because he never breaks a character, which is commendable – especially when you see him in his British officer Getup practicing his accent for his street performances while wearing a large funny fake mustache.
While the former thinks you’ll have when watching The fanatic Lower, “real people do not act in this way,” it is actually in the interests of the film because despite the fact that it is inspired by real -life, direct life experiences that Fred Durst had actually with obsession fans, it’s pretty funny to watch. One character does not learn from their mistakes, or prove the necessary moments of intervention that will allow them to look at their situations critically. If this was by design, then Bravo … but if the writing and direction were just an unfortunate result, it is still at least an interesting watch.
But if there is one reason to sit down and watch The fanatic On a tubi, it’s for the scene where Dunar Devon Sawa explodes Limp Bizkit in his car, drummes on the steering wheel, and tells his son how great their music is because he looks like he (Devon Sawa, not his character) dies on the inside for having to tell that line high. If this doesn’t sound like your cup of tea, then you might want to sit this one out.
