Paulie Malignaggi was impressed with the skilled Ibf Welterweight champion, Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis (34-0, 30 kos) looked at the victory on Saturday night, eliminating the WBA Eimantas Stanionis champion (15-1, 9 kos) in the sixth round in the Boardwalk Room, in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
Malignaggi states that Ennis, 27, obtained an element “without fighting”. He was able to get the stoppage through the boxing and the jar launch without letting himself be struck in the fight. I didn’t expect the boots to win like that.
Ennis slowly reached the slowest and smaller Stanionis during the first five rounds and then demolished it late in the sixth. Once the round was over, Stanionis’s corner decided that he had taken enough punishment and had not sent it to the seventh.
Size is also important
Ennis looked at least 15 pounds heavier than Stanionis inside the ring tonight. You could say that it had rehydrated an entire group and that the additional size of its boots on its frame would have been enough to win only. But also had the advantage of technical skills with his modern style of struggle compared to the Balboa-Rocky Primitive Approach using Stanionis.
“You forget that Jaron can fight so well. I think he reminded us tonight how he can fight so well,” said Paulie Malignaggi to Fighthypereacting to Jaron ‘boots’ ennis’ wins on Eimantas Stanionis. “He had a stop without fighting. He had a stop when he was a real Boxeador Bonus and overcoming Stanionis. He didn’t expect him to arrive this way.”
Stanionis facilitated it through an old rocky style of fighting a modern boxer tonight and never worked. Ennis knew he could overcome Stanionis, which is why he chose to stay in 147 to complete his goal of turning into the indisputable champion. I knew Stanionis was done to order it.
“He is an excellent fighter,” Malignaggi said about Ennis Boots. “I think this performance tonight about Stanionis, who was a difficult boy. No one was waiting for it to be so easy. I don’t think Stanionis expected to fight like that. Ennis started boxing, changing -the range, catching it with technical power features.”
It seems that Malignaggi never saw some of Stanionis’s fights. If he had seen his attack on Radzhab Butaev in 2022, he would have learned that tonight’s struggle with his boots would be easy for Philadelphia’s native. Box injured Stanionis several times in the fight, much more than Ennis did tonight and barely lost 114-113 on the judge. This was easily the most accurate score of the three for Stanionis-Butaev’s struggle.
“It was like,” Let’s bust out in Center Ring, Philadelphia Style vs. East European Style. “He was like:” Do you know what? “He defeated him doing so. I think this increases the curiosity again.
“Some people are criticized. When you are an elite athlete, you are criticized all over the place. When you are at the top, all kinds of opinions. The more opinions the people have, the better, regardless of whether they are good or bad. The more people who think of you, it means that they know you well enough to form an opinion,” said Malignaggi.
