Ravichandran Ashwin reacts to Overton’s gesture
The moment has not been lost on Ashwin, who has been a prominent figure in discussions about the ‘non-striker’ being sacked because of his own record with the rule. Ashwin, now retired from international cricket but still active in the IPL and on social media, humorously responded to the incident on X (formerly Twitter), saying his vibe will match the England cricketer, showing his support for Overton’s action.
Notably, Ashwin will be Overton’s partner Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the upcoming IPL 2025. He emphasized on the camaraderie among players who share similar views on the ethics of the game.
