After the players, now LSG’s main coach, Justin Langer

Justin Langer has revealed how a Sanjiv Goenka line forced him to end his three -year -old hiatus and return to the Cricket as a coach. The old Australian workshop replaced Andy Flower as LuckNow Super Giants Main coach in July 2023.

It was the first time Justin Langer accepted a coaching role in an IPL franchise.

Although IPL paper was new for Australia, there was no coaching experience for him. Under his coach Perth Scorchers won the Big Bash League Holders.

He also enjoyed a success as the main coach of the Australian men’s team. Under him, Australia won her first T20 World Cup title in 2021.

He abandoned Australia’s lead coach in early 2022 and moved away from the Cricket for almost three years before a conversation with Sanjiv Goenka convinced him to accept coaching’s offer.

Langer reveals Goenka’s words

“So I feel with (Sanjiv) goenka and I have this conversation. He is a quiet and pleasant person and he is a very successful entrepreneur. You know what he says in the end, the last words:” Justin, I know you have had a very successful coaching career. But let’s leave it well. You cannot classify -you as an excellent coach until you win the IPL. ” Justin Langer He told his former teammate Michael Clarke in the podcast beyond 23 Cricket.

The opportunity to build a successful team from scratch was very attractive to Langer and finally accepted Goenka’s offer.

Speaking further, Justin Langer also rubbed rumors that suggest that Goenka plays a role in cricketing decisions beyond the Board Room.

“I had zero stress of the Goenka family. My experience with the team showed that these perceptions were the opposite,” said Langer.

The first season of Langer with LSG did not go well. For the first time since his IPL trip began in 2022, Lucknow’s dress was unable to qualify for the playoffs. They finished in seventh place and also decided to release their captain, Kl satisfied.

However, they have started the ongoing season with a strong note. LSG has won three of its first five games and is currently in the fifth place on the point table. They have looked like a strong unit so far and they will want to go until this season.
