Elon Musk called President Donald Trump’s trade advisor Peter Navaro, “morot” about the comments he expressed about his Tesla electric vehicles.
Musk – who is also a member of the Trump administration – also said that Navaro was “stupid than a brick bag” in the messages on his social media platform.
He was in response to Navarro’s interview, in which he called Tesla a “car collector” rather than the manufacturer, because of the use of spare parts made by foreign.
Navaro interviewed Trump’s tariff policy and said he wanted to see such parts made in the US in the future.
Musk said the claims were “demonstratively false”.
BBC asked the White House to comment.
Trump justifiedly justified his global wave of tariffs, saying he wants to revive production in the United States.
This is an argument that Navarre expanded during CNBC on Monday.
“If you look at our automotive industry, yes, we are now in the assembly line for German engines and gear,” he said.
“We are going to get to the place where America is doing things again, the real salary will be increased, the profit will be increased.”
Responding to the comments on Tuesday, Musk published a link to the article 2023. Kelley Book assessment firm, which referred to the results of Car.com that the Tesla vehicles had most details in the US.
“By any definition, Tesla is the most vertically integrated car manufacturer in America with the highest percentage of US content,” Musk wrote in the following message.
Analyst at the technology industry Dan Jus said on Sunday that the company was less tariff than other car manufacturers in the US, such as GM, Ford and Stellantis.
But he also claimed that the company received most of its parts outside the US, emphasizing China.
“The tariffs in their current form will violate TESLA, the general supply chain, and its global mark, which has been a clear advantage over the years compared to the growth of competitors such as byd,” he said.
Trump’s tariffs have caused the fall of the stock market around the world because investors estimated that it would cause firms to profit.
Musk – Leading Dodge, who has instructed to reduce federal costs – warned in a message X on March 27 that even his company would not be safe from breakdowns tariffs.
Another Baker Trump, the head of the billionaire Foundation Bill Akman, urged to pause on the tariffs to get rid of what he called “the main economic violations”.
In a report on X he said the current plans would cause “unnecessary damage”.
Navaro is considered an ultra-trump loyalist after being Planted in jail for ignoring the subpoena in court From the House of Representatives Committee investigating allegedly efforts to cancel the 2020 elections.
It is also considered one of the main architects of Trump’s tariff policy.
