For decades, the name of Arnold Schwarzenegger has been synonymous with over -the -top action sequences and one shameless lining that comes from a man who is always large, in charge and the complete control of the situation, no matter how absurd it could be. I do not say this as an indictment of his acting abilities either; Schwarzenegger was born to play this type of character, and has the story to prove. But when he finally has a chance to play against Math and take a more dramatic role, as in 2015’s BaggageYou can’t help but I wonder why we don’t see the dear acting star in more films like this because it clearly has acting chops that have not yet been fully explored at this point in his explosive career.

Remarkably convincing in his portrayal of a grieving father during uncertain times, Schwarzenegger’s performance Baggage I need to get more attention because I didn’t think it got it to maintain such a touching performance, and if I’m being honest, I didn’t know that this film even existed until recently due to its limited theatrical release.

Father’s love knows no borders

Maggie 2015

Set in post-apocalyptic America alternately today, Baggage Focus on Wade Vogel Arnold Schwarzenegger, and his sick daughter, Marguerite “Maggie” Vogel (Abigail Breslin). Maggie went missing after being bitten by a zombie infected with the necroambulist virus, which could also be a death sentence. Unlike other zombie movies, we do not talk about a complete violent cause as in The gift of the deadBut rather the result of one in the sense that most people are trying to rebuild society, and quarantine measures are being put in place for those who are still infected.

When locating Maggie in a hospital for the infected, Wade brings her home as he and his wife, Caroline (Joely Richardson), can make her feel comfortable during what is in uncertain terms.

As Maggie’s health continues to decline, we get a glimpse of her psychological condition because the scenes shot from her point of view show her physical and mental faculties gradually losing shape as the zombie Infection grips. Knowing that it is only a matter of time until he has to make a decision that no father should ever have to make, Wade faces the authorities that tell him she can either bring her to a warrant center where she will ultimately get her drugs to death, which is an incredible process of pulling out and painful, or “making it quick Old yell.

Made credible because of its lack of construction of the world

Maggie 2015

Set himself apart from other post-apocalyptic intellectual property as 28 days later or The walking dead. Baggage There is no need to build a vast world to convey his point because of the local events that drive his storytelling.

Set almost entirely in Vogel’s resident, we get a glimpse of the healing derelict land when Wade and Maggie travel to and from hospital – and since we’re mostly in a rural location, we witness a small community in pig’s feet hoping to rebuild one day.

The structures that fail in the local community, and the hospital skeleton staff involving doctors, nurses, and tired military personnel of the world are all you need to know that humanity has been battling the necroambulist virus for a time, and although there may be light at the end of the straightforward tunnel.

Maggie 2015

I will be the first person to tell you that Baggage Primarily a madness and madness experience, but there are some expected moments of levity that only Arnold Schwarzenegger could achieve when tensions are high, like pretending that improvised cooking, Caroline’s grief, actually tastes good while he is holding back in his effort to make his darling daring if only for women. Maintaining a subject throughout most of the film’s run, Schwarzenegger is effective in his portrayal of a grieving father who already knows how the story is going to end before the events in the film even start.

If you’re willing to see one of the biggest action stars ever, let his guard, get sentimental, and for the first time act as he has answers, not because they really have, but because he tries to comfort his dying daughter, then you should try Baggagewhich is currently streaming on Max.
