Britney Spears still feeling giddy about reuniting with her youngest son.
Spears, 43, took to Instagram on Monday, December 30, to praise his son Jayden, 18, days after they spend Christmas together for the first time in years.
“Mine forever!!!” she wrote alongside two snaps of Jayden posing in a natural setting sporting baggy jeans and an oversized maroon shirt.
The pop legend continued: “It’s strange that we’re like twins but he’s a boy and I’m a girl!!! It’s mine I haven’t seen it in 2 and a half years or maybe 3!!! I’m in shock!!! He came back and he feels older and smarter than me!!! He is a man and I cry every day of my life because he is a miracle and a genius!!! When he plays the whole earth shakes!!!”
Spears previously announced their holiday reunion via Instagram on December 25, video sharing of her and Jayden where she referred to him as “my baby” before kissing him on the cheek.
“Best Christmas of my life!!! I haven’t seen my boys in 2 years!!!” she decided the post. “Tears of joy and literally in shock every day koo koo crazy so in love and blessed!!!”
Spears said at the time that she was left “speechless” when she saw Jayden. The singer shares the teenager as well as his son Preston, 19, with ex-husband Kevin Federline.
After her divorce from Federline, 46, in 2007, Britney was in custody under the supervision of her father, Jamie Spearsfor a large part of her children’s lives. The protection ended at the end of 2021 after 13 years, and Britney has had it ever since a strained relationship with her sons.
“I think Mum struggled to look after us both and show us equal love and I don’t think she showed Preston enough and I feel really bad about that,” Jayden told Daily Mail in 2022. “We’ve both been through so much pressure in the past that this is our safe place now, to process all the emotional trauma we’ve been through to heal, to heal our state of mind. If I complained, she went after (my brother). I feel guilty, so I am there for him. My mother has treated me better.”
Britney responded to Jayden’s comments at the time, writing via Instagram, “I tell my son Jayden I send you all the love in the world every day for the rest of my life.”
He added: “My love for my children has no boundaries and it is very sad for me to know his wildness in saying that I did not meet his expectations of a mother…. and maybe one day we can meet face to face and talk about this openly!”
Jayden and Preston after that move to Hawaii with their father and his wife, Prince Victoriaalong with their half-siblings, in 2023. Jayden has since returned to California.
“Jayden is spending time back in California but not living with Britney,” a source just say Us Weekly in November. “All his friends are still in California and he wanted to come back after graduating high school. Jayden reached out to Britney and struck up a conversation.”
The insider noted that Jayden is “open to mending the relationship” with his mother.
“It’s going to take time and it won’t reconcile immediately. They’ve seen each other twice and (it was) very brief,” the source continued. “Britney was very excited to hear from him. She hopes they can continue to spend time together and she hopes the Preston will come around too. She’s heartbroken not to see her boys. Reaching out to Jayden means everything to her.”
