If I wrote a Russian language course for 2025, a lesson would definitely contain the phrase for the roller coaster: Americanskiye Gorki.

This means literally, American hills.

How appropriate.

After all, when President Donald Trump works on the trip, and Vladimir Putin pressed some buttons, American relations became one of the later, with highs and turns and turns.

You never know where you are now.

Analysis of geopolitical trends is difficult enough in the best of times. An even more difficult career on the US Hills 47th of the US president.

When Trump returned to the White House in January, his trip was clear: he went to repair relations with Russia.

There were Trump/Putin’s phone calls, negotiations with high-level US-Russia. At one point, Washington voted with Moscow against the UN resolution, which defined Russia as an “aggressor” in the Russian war against Ukraine.

Whenever Trump administration was pressured, she was always in Kiev, never to Kremlin.

But a week or so, that’s why a trip to the Mountain Mountains began.

Trump made it clear that he was angry with Russian President’s comments

After Vladimir Putin suggested replacing the Presidential Administration of Loladimir Zelensky President Trump, who “evil” with “external government” in Ukraine under the auspices of the UN made it clear that he “became angry” by Putin.

“I was disappointed in a certain way, some things that were said over the last day -two related to Zelensky,” Trump commented on March 30. “Because if (Putin) thinks that Zelensky is not reliable, he has to conclude with him a deal with him. Be you like it or you don’t like it.”

After a day that played Golf with Trump, Finnish President Alexander Stubb said Guardian: “I think America, and my feeling is also the US president, ended with patience with Russia.”

Trump threatened to impose secondary tariffs up to 50% on Russian oil exports when Russia was recognized that he was dragging his heels to Ukraine’s peace deal.

A two -party group of US senators went even further.

They made a bill that would impose 500% of secondary tariffs on countries that acquire Russian oil, gas and other resources.

So far, the Russian press has welcomed a thaw between Moscow and Washington. Last month, the Nezavisimaya Gazeta newspaper made a title stating that we and Russian officials “started speaking in one language”.

This week everything has changed.

On Wednesday, the Moskovsky Komsomolets newspaper accused the Trump administration of “administrative frost … inexperience … immaturity”.

He criticized the administration of “boasting and arrogance” and “his desire to declare” huge breakthroughs “when the first steps are practically not made.”

On the same day, the Komsomolskaya Pravda stated: “Donald’s mood changes as often as the wind.”

Perhaps signs of cold wind blowing between Moscow and Washington?

And yet, when Trump announced his broad tariffs this week, Russia was not on the list.

Instead, the US authorities have organized a refusal of sanctions for the Kremlin’s key official: Putin’s foreign investment Messenger Kirill Dmitriev.

Dmitriev flew to Washington for negotiations with the Trump administration.

A sign, perhaps, Russia and America engaged in affairs … get along?

But on Friday another warning from Washington to Moscow. This time at the NATO Foreign Ministers meeting in Brussels.

“President Trump will not fall into the trap of endless negotiations,” said US Secretary of State Mark Rubio.

“We will find out soon enough, in a few weeks, not the months, whether Russia will be serious about peace or not.”

Mark Rubio said Trump would not fall into the “trap of endless negotiations”

“If they are gone,” he continued, “then we will have to overestimate where we stand and what we do.”

This happened after Russia’s criticism from NATO allies in America. British Foreign Minister David Lami said Putin “continues darkening and continues his feet.”

“Now he could accept the ceasefire, he continues to bomb Ukraine … We see you, Vladimir Putin, we know what you are doing.”

Earlier on Friday, there were rumors that Trump and Putin were going to speak again. They followed more rumors: the White House changed.

The Kremlin said there were no plans for the conversation.

But there are reports that US companies plan to participate in this year’s Economic Forum Saint -Petersburg.

Good. Stop the trip. I need to leave.

My conclusions from all this.

Trying to keep track of every turn and turn on the roller coaster, it can leave you to be twisted and bewildered.

Sometimes it is better to watch from afar. Often it helps to determine the big picture.

What is: During the months, Donald Trump’s team avoided criticism from Putin and a full -scale invasion of Ukraine.

The key officials of the White House, such as Steve Witcof, have repeatedly covered the Kremlin. However, Washington says he is growing impatient to Russia and threatened with tougher sanctions in Moscow. But it did not impose it. Not yet.

Will it be?

Is Trump’s ready -made administration pressure from Moscow to stop the war? And would the Kremlin put pressure on it?

This is a key question when the Russian war with Ukraine continues.
