Gray anatomy star Kim Raver Stunned by Teddy and Owen’s decision to open their wedding – but more than happy to take on the challenge as an actress and director.
“It’s such a difficult subject, and we’ve never Gray’s. Everyone you talk to have very strong feelings about. Kevin (McKidd) And I was very worried, like, okay, wait, this is very difficult ground. ‘ We both love this couple and the years we’ve been building (along with Showrunner) Me (marinis) and the writers, ”said Raver, 56 Weekly US During a unique interview before the chapter on Thursday, April 3, of the medical play. “Gray He has never departed from very intense controversial topics, so this is so fun to do. “
Raver Marinis credited about how she went to the story line.
“Meg has been so amazing. We had several sittings on (discussed), ‘How do we protect the characters we love in this situation but also open, as it were, the dialogue about it?’” He explained. “Teddy and Owen have been arguing for so long and don’t come on. When we were talking to Meg, he came from a place where Owen and Teddy love each other so deeply that they are not ready to walk away from the relationship. So what are you doing?”
While Teddy and Owen founded in the Chapter of March 27, one of the rules of their open marriage is to keep things physically and not establish an emotional connection with someone else, Raver agreed with it Us That would be difficult for these characters.
“Teddy and Owen are so emotional!Greg German). “My big thing Meg was, Teddy in actually a mess When he deceived and if Teddy has evolved at all, he can be just a silly, open marriage. It must be much deeper and much more layered. I think even the fans responded, like, ‘Oh, thank God. They are finally honest. ‘”
On Thursday’s episode, Teddy is reunited Trauma -Surgeon Joint Cass (Bush Sophia), who is in an open marriage herself with her husband David.
“It’s so great,” raver Gushed from bush. “She is extremely intelligent. For an actress to come into a group that has been together for so long and being so positive – she is an amazing addition.”
While the two women felt sparks before during a chapter in November 2024, Teddy took off. This time, Teddy and Cass acted on their feelings.
“We make this love scene together and I’d like, ‘wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, have an idea.’ And she would be like, ‘Wait, what?’ Mid-Kiss! And then she would be like, ‘Great, let’s do that,’ said Raver for directing their make-up. “It was amazing to have such an amazing partner with such great qualities of generosity, intelligence, laughter, ease and professionalism. We are so lucky to find her playing Cass because it is a complex role. Everyone loves her. I felt so lucky. She is actually a woman who really supports other women.”
Raver added that she believed Bush “makes the whole relationship stand out.”
“On camera, she has this amazing, like, shining for it,” he continued. “This effortless, amazing quality is real. It is not someone who comes in and breaks down marriage. Her character actually illuminates that there are other ways than the traditional ways of having a relationship, and that everyone has to choose their own path.”
Raver noted that Cass “forces” anything on Teddy. “What is cool about this episode is like Teddy, ‘I’m absolutely ready to have that conversation,” he said. “It is also about consent, and I think that is very important. Consent from all ends – Owen’s consent, Cass consent, Teddy mature and cool at the end. It is a very thoughtful exploration of this open marriage.”
While Teddy and Cass get hot and heavy for a minute, fans see Teddy changing her mind in the middle of the work.
“I think it’s amazing that Teddy comes to realize before, like, make love. She’s like, ‘This isn’t going to fix my wedding. I thought this was a reply,’” Raver told us. “For her, she realizes that he feels too much like cheating, and she feels too much like the way she had been on her before.”
Owen, for his part, spends the episode with Nora (Floriana Lima).
“There are so many layers and it’s so complicated,” said Raver. “Floriana is an amazing, generous, wonderful, talented woman. I had to choreography of the love scene; it is very choreographed. We have Intimacy Co -ordinatorBut Sophia, Floriana was such rock stars in being able to outline Teddy and our relationship, but then I directed. They were so open to trying things and playing around with things. “
Raver also laughed because the one to direct McKidd with a new love interest. “I’m telling Kevin, like, okay, I need you to kiss her more, bring the Comfort down more ‘ – I felt so excited to tell the story and it made it very easy,” he said.
At the end of the episode, fans are left uncertain of what is next to Owen and Teddy.
“I wanted the moment ‘oh my god’ where people throw things into TV, going, ‘what?!’” Said Raver Us. “The way it goes to Black, and there’s Cappella’s music playing. I wanted that to be so shocking.”
Raver also warns fans to prepare for the remaining chapters in the season.
“I don’t know what’s going to happen with them, and that’s so sad and scary. It’s definitely going to be a roller-coaster,” he said. “We’ve just finished the finale and I’m not going to give anything away. I would just say, ‘Buckle Up.'”
