Lynn Ban suffered a severe head injury after a skiing accident on Christmas Eve.
“And in the blink of an eye … life can change,” says the Bling Empire: New York star, 51, wrote via Instagram on Monday, December 30. “Christmas Eve on a beautiful sunny day in Aspen on vacation with my family, I had a skiing accident that would change my life.”
While skiing at the top of the mountain, Ban shared that she “caught a tip” which caused her to face a plant. At the time, the injury didn’t seem “that bad” to each Ban as she “always” wore a helmet. Ban could ski down the mountain and wanted to have check for concussion by the ski patrol just in case.
“I had a bit of a headache but I thought after lunch it would be fine and I could ski again. The paramedic suggested I go to hospital for a CAT scan. This saved my life,” he wrote. “I got in a taxi with (partner) Jett (Fine) and within 30 minutes they told us I had a brain bleed and needed to be airlifted to the trauma hospital.”
He continued: “The last thing I remember was being put in and waking up from emergency brutality with Jett by my side.”
Back Johns Hopkins Medicinea craniotomy procedure is the surgical removal of part of the bone from the skull to expose the brain.
In her post, Ban shared a slideshow of photos which included a selfie from her hospital bed which showed half her hair shaved off and the scar from the operation. In a subsequent glimpse, the jewelery designer can be seen sleeping in the hospital bed while she is hooked up to several machines. Ban also included pictures of her on the mountain in her ski gear which included a helmet and goggles.
“There is a long road to recovery ahead of me but I am a survivor and grateful to ski patrol, the amazing team of doctors and nurses and the ❤️ and support of my family and friends 🙏🏼,” she said. “GOD IS GOOD 🙏🏼 Thank you and see you in the new year 🎉🙌🏻.”
Costar Ban Dorothy Wang he took the comments to wish her a speedy recovery.
“Omg lynn I have a cold. So happy you’re ok and your amazing tribe is by your side,” replied Wang, 36. “Sending you all my love and wishing you well.♥️”
An actress Debbie Mazar also wished Ban well, writing, “Whoa!! Omg Lynn!!! I’m sorry this happened to you! The haircut and the scar are weirdly hot 🔥 you are a warrior and we all wish you a speedy recovery!!!❤️🩹 sending love and strength!”
Ban starred on the Empire of Bling spinoff alongside Wang, Tina Leung, Blake Abbie and more. The Netflix series premiered in 2023 and aired for one season. Earlier this year both Empire of Bling a Bling Empire: New York, cancel them.
