Kathy Griffin and Ellen DeGeneres feud, ‘War Epic’ explained

Comedy -Gentiles and TV stars Kathy Griffin and Ellen DeGeneres don’t like each other.

Griffin says she sees degeneres as “very funny,” seems to respect the former host of the talk show about his professional chops. But that’s where the praise ends.

Griffin opened for the long -standing row in a video For his YouTube channel, where he went back and looked at their first run in the 1990s.

“I have an epic hatred of her,” she said in the video, published on Wednesday, April 1. “I know a lot of it is jealous. I get it. It’s a more successful way than I will ever have.”

“You are welcome, Ellen,” he continued. “That’s a way nicer than anything you’ve ever said about me or will ever be.”

Both have had more running in over the years, including a dispute over Griffin’s status on Ellen degeneres show and an argument following death Joan Rivers.

As Griffin explained, she started the trouble when she starred a guest on the 1990s sitting comedy in the future, Elevate. Degeneres entered the board read for her chapter and recognized Griffin of commercials she had recently made for Kenmore Stereos.

In the ad, Griffin reported the words to Wild Cherry’s “Play That Funky Music” in an undergaritated Deadpan way. DeGeneres insisted that she will do it again at the board read.

“He was a little away. He was not said with a fun spirit, as,” described Griffin. “If that were me and I was the star of the show, I wouldn’t do that for someone who is like the day player … I felt she said ‘dance, b ****, dance.”

Ultimately, Griffin recounted the words, only the joke did not work without her dress and her dancers. The rest of the cast and crew, some of them who had not seen the ad, were sitting aside in awkward silence.

“You could hear a pin fall because I felt the rest of the room was going, I don’t get what’s so special about this,” he said. “(Ellen) Then also kind of look at me, ‘What are you doing?’”

“If you know her, that’s like who she is,” Griffin concluded. “She was never friendly after that. He was just rough.”

2007

In an interview in March 2007 with W Magazine, Griffin’s assertion degeneres denied that the comedian was banned from his talk show.

“I know she has a big thing about wanting to be on the show, and we didn’t order it,” he said. “She did a whole thing I banned from the show. I didn’t ban her from the show, because first you have to be on the show to be banned.”

Eventually, Griffin got on the show later that year, but called it “mean” during his opening monologue. Griffin said later She felt she was betrayed.

“I was in the dressing room like, ‘S ** t! You’re another female comic, C’mon!'” He told us Weekly at the time.

When Deireres refused, he allegedly said, “There is a difference between mean and funny,” Griffin fired back.
