Ireland has the most powerful passport in the world, reports the Nomad Passport 2025.
For the first time, the North -European country ranked solo No. 1 in the annual ranking from the capitalist Nomad, tax and immigration consultation. Ireland, however, approached in 2020, when it is connected with the first place next to Luxembourg and Sweden.

Unlike other ratings that often evaluate passports based solely on their visa travel force, Nomad Ranking rating analyzes five criteria:

Passport rating
The ninth edition of the list occupies 199 countries and territories that use 20 sources, such as the country’s tax ranking and Report on World Happiness And the United Nations Human Development Index for the perception rating, the index reports.
The results vary from 10 to 50, with the exception of the Visa category, which is the number of countries in which passport owners can enter without requiring a visa.
Here’s the list from the first to 49th place:
European countries occupy nine of the top 10 places: from the long -standing power plant of Switzerland to the small peoples of Luxembourg and Malta.
The highest passports outside Europe are the United Arab Emirates and New Zealand, which are both tied to 10th place.

Greece rises, UAE falls
Greece (tied to the 2nd), Slovenia (tied to the 13th) and Spain (tied to 32) in the ranking of 2025, which are fueled by changes in the tax results of each country.
“In a tumultuous year, marked by the switching of geopolitics and the shock of politics, Greece has grown sharply from sixth to the second place with Switzerland, reflecting its growth of authority among high network, pensioners and world investors,” the rating said.
However, other countries – including Lithuania, the Netherlands, Germany and Hungary – moved down the ranking. In particular, the UAE – which was No. 1 in 2023 and was connected with No. 6 in 2024 – moved to 10th place in 2025.
“Recently submitted taxes … tarnished (UAE) attractiveness to global entrepreneurs,” the issue reads.
Countries leading other lists – such as Singapore and Japan – raisins below in the Nomad capitalist list. Both point out low for double citizenship that is restricted in Japan and not recognized in Singapore. Japan is also introduced in the tax category, while Singapore has warm points for personal freedom.
