Haiti gangs storms city mireball and release 500 prisoners

On Monday, the gang members burst into the city of Mirebala in Central Haiti and released about 500 prisoners from prison.

The Haiti National Police spokesman said additional officers, located 50 km (30 miles) northeast of the capital, Port-O-Press.

Police officials said they had restored control over Mirebala, but local reports warned that many of the prisoners were still wandering the streets.

Armed gangs control almost the entire capital, but this last attack believes that they are increasingly aiming at the towns in other parts of the country.
