Cunha wants to “take this next step” as Brazilian demand indicates the departure of the wolves

Matheus Cunha has not made a secret of his ambition for the future and admits: “I have to take this next step.”

Wolves Forward is expected to be a hot merchandise on the nearby transfer window, with several Premier League clubs that have been interested in securing their services.

A high -profile play could be on the horizon, given the interest that surrounds it.

Arsenal is among the clubs that closely monitors the situation of Cunha, as the artillers seek to strengthen their attack options after long -term injuries to Kai Haviertz and Gabriel Jesus.

In the meantime, Nottingham Forest is also in the mixture and it is believed that a record offer is being prepared in case they achieve the qualification of the Champions League. The club previously asked about Cunha in January, but Wolves remained firm in its position that was not for sale.

Despite signing an extension of contract to defend the suitors, Cunha has made it clear that he is open to a play. Speaking with The Guardian, he shared his thoughts about his professional progression.

“I had a lot of offers, but I would not feel well if I had done it,” said Cunha. “Some things you can’t control, but I couldn’t leave the club in the middle of the season, in a difficult situation, in the relegation area.

“Now, we are about to achieve our goal (to keep -me up to date). But I have made it clear that I have to take the next step.

“I want to fight for titles, for great things. I have potential.”

Despite his desire to move on, the Brazilian expressed a deep appreciation for the support he has received since he joined the wolves of Atletico Madrid in January 2023.

“Sometimes everything we want in life is affection,” he said. “People think we have everything, but we are also human beings. We need a little understanding: we have our difficulties.

“The wolves gave me this joy. The fans (they have given me) a lot.

“The state I have today, the player I am now and the happiness I feel is because of them. I am very grateful to the wolves.”

With the rapidly approaching summer transfer window, Cunha seems to move in search of silver and a new challenge.
