Las Vegas, Nevada-Mikaela Mayer (21-2, 5 kos) wants to be considered among the best in the boxing of women. He showed that she is a real champion by convincingly defeating the former Wbo Sandy Ryan champion (7-3-1, 3 kos) and making the first successful defense of this title. In front of a crowd exhausted in the Bleaulive Theater inside Fontaineleu Las Vegas, Mayer offered a definitive performance for the race.
After suffering two debatable championship losses in Alycia Baumgardner and Natasha Jonas, and then a strict victory of the majority against Sandy last September was tightened, Mikaela made it known that he would try to win convincing this time and leave any doubt who was the best boxer.
In the first game, Mayer surpassed Ryan only by a punch, from 186 to 185.But, in the resale, he surpassed it by a wider margin, from 178 to 146. Landing 40 focus more, he did so by controlling the pace of the fight and applying pressure.
Sandy mistakenly changed his strategy for this party, choosing the box outside using a side movement. Its production decreased significantly from the first party and was less effective as a result. His best round was the eighth, when he threw more (57) and landed (24) his best punching in the fight. Sandy worked better when he stayed in his pocket (Combox) as he did in the first game.
After his victory, Mikaela said he intends to happen after the unbeaten and reigning IBF, WBA and WBC Champion Welterweight Lauren Price to become the undisputed champion. This would establish a super struggle between two highly qualified boxers. Mikaela said of his third game as a heavy weight: “I had been needing to move -to me heavy weight for a long time. So when I finally I did, it only took a good year and a half of hard work. That’s where I am comfortable, and this is where it should have been.” It seems that it seems much improved under the new coaches of the Kofi Jantuah and Mitchell team. It is now a struggle far from overcoming the division.
Although Sandy had Kay Koroma to Mayer coach at his corner for resale, he did not get any tactical advantage. Kay sat in the first fight out of respect for Mikaela, but this time he was present. Throughout the week of the fight, Sandy threw verbal punches to Mikaela, making fun -saying that he would have Kay in his corner and that he was no longer in his own. Mayer’s victory puts all the drama and leadership of the first game and all the bad blood that remained. There were only two women, a boxing ring and a championship glory. Mikaela
He prevailed and showed that he can compete with any weight weight and now hopes to end the division against the unbeaten champion that is now destined for the face.
