David Marcus: Trump’s time to make a real estate transaction for Greenland

Famous Board Twain “Buy Earth, they no longer create” wishes a certain property to our north.

This week Vice President J. D. Haens and Second Lady Usha went to the island nation by visiting the US Space Space forces, in the hardest message that Trump means business if he says he wants Make Greenland part of America.

Please note that when Trump talks about foreign countries, he almost always refers to the properties that belong to him, a golf course in Scotland or a hotel in Dubai. He doesn’t just brag about. He says he has a skin in the game and therefore understands the country.

This is not the president who puts a large store into intangible multilateral defense agreements that allow the US to pay for the protection of Danish Greenland. No, he wants land, not some complex leasing agreement.

And this is such a mad concept? We are a nation that pushed Lewis and Clark through the rocks. We purchased Alaska and Hawaii, Guam and all the small micro-stars that no one was.

The last time the United States grew up in the territory was in 1947 with the addition of the Marshall and some others, but these last 78 years have been more. Prior to this, America’s appetite for the land was almost insatiable.

So why not Greenland?

The only reason that Greenland to start is that 1000 years ago some Vikings came across it. Since then, it has been too cold that anyone else was worried.

And although Greenlik’s people must eventually decide to resolve their sovereignty, this is not the only consideration in the world where control over the Arctic can mean control over the globe.

Trump’s interests, which are said to be America’s interests, may serve best by possessing a strategic nation.

Most of the rest, which is on the way of a great beautiful transaction on the purchase of Greenland, what the US tried to do after the occupation and defense of the Great Island in the Second World War, while Denmark was under Germany, is the order after the healing over the last 40 years.

Under the neoliberal bromide of leaders with good hair, the West, led by the United States, came to consideration of recently restored borders in Europe and other places as a secretary, secured as an important thing, which is undoubtedly contrary to all human history, including in America.

It somehow worked for a while. The Third World War was not there, but even until the mid-1990s, the former Yugoslavia descended into a rigid chaos, there was no peace in the Middle East, and Russia spent decades, redrawing its border with Ukraine in blood.

For Trump and for many Americans who think he, when countries such as Russia, expand when there are eyes in China, then we cannot sit on sidelines, especially if the free world is conducted on our penny.

In chess, in the early 20th century, the appearance of hyper-modern style appeared, in which the usual wisdom, which pawns should physically occupy a physically important center of the board, was rejected for the benefit of powerful works that control the center from afar.

But unlike chess, geopolitics do not have a solid and discrete set of rules. Thus, it is possible to understand why Trump prefers the ideas of physical maintenance, and does not allow him to protect her with a vague collection of Western interests.

Because we were conditioned after the Cold War, it sounds strange when Trump calls borders as “artificial lines”. But this is absolutely true: the boundaries are negotiating, and you can even think about them as a real estate transaction.

No one wants to go to war for Greenland, but this is not the reason not to make this transaction 57,000 people who live there. In America, there is something to offer, and perhaps Trump can make their offer too good to give up.

In any case, as Americans, we should not be shocked or ashamed of ideas to expand our territory. It’s not just what Trump always did, it’s in America.
