Kitty Ducaakis, the wife of the former Governor Massachusetts and 1988 Democratic presidential candidate Michael Ducaakis died at the age of 88, confirmed Digital Fox News.
Her son John Dukakis said the wife and mother of three years died on Friday night “surrounded by family”.
“She was born on December 26, 1936 and lived a full life, struggling to make the world a better place and share her vulnerabilities to help others face them,” he said in a statement. “She was a loving, festival and fun, and had great sensitivity to people from all walks of society. She and our father, Michael Dukakis, shared an enviable partnership for over 60 years and loved each other. Thank you all who touched our lives for many years or touched our mother.”

The Washington Post and the New York Times reported that John Dukakis said the cause of the mother’s death was complications in dementia and that she died in her home in Brooklyn, Massachusetts.
Kitty Dukakis was the first Massachusetts lady during three unwavering husband’s conditions and supported Michael Dukakis during a failed president against Vice President George W. Bush.
