In order to counteract the effects of DEW, which is likely to take center stage during night games, the BCCI has made a disposition that allows teams to use an additional ball of the 11th of the second entries during IPL encounters. The movement aims to facilitate a uniform battle between bat and dance and reduce unfair benefits for teams that play second due to the favorable effects of dew.
With this introduction of the rule, the BCCI hopes to reduce the influence of launch during night parties, which has become a decision in parties many times, as the dew factor benefited the teams that pursue a goal. According to Cricbuzz, the areas will make the last judgment on whether the change of balls is required and that they would first measure the amount of dew on the ground.
This regulation will be applied mainly to the night games and it is not expected that the afternoon games have a second ball.
The prohibition of the use of saliva to polish the ball, which was introduced during the Covid-19 pandemic, has also been elevated to contain the propagation of the virus. The ban had been implemented worldwide by the world International Cricket Council (ICC) as a precautionary action. However, with the pandemic behind it, many players and experts, including the Indian Pealer Mohammed ShamiHe had defended his elimination, quoting his importance in maintaining the balance and efficiency of quick bowls.
With this decision, players can re -use saliva to keep the ball state, which is expected to benefit the rhythms, especially in longer formats.
These reforms aim to introduce a new dynamic to the IPL, to ensure more competitive parties and to answer most key issues on the conditions of equity and play.
