President Donald Trump Moves forward by planning the Department of Education.
It is expected that Trump will sign the executive order after the company’s promise to dissolve the department, saying that as a result of the company, the department was full of “radicals, zealots and Marxists”.
The White House article states that this step “will turn into education instead of bureaucracy.”
The directive comes after the Senate voted for confirmation of Linda McMuhon, former CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) to head the March 3 agency. McMuhon published a memo later on this day, outlining her support for Trump administration plans and that she would watch the “new era of responsibility” in recent days.
“The reality of our education system is sharp, and the American people have chosen President Trump to make significant changes in Washington,” McMahon said in the March 3 note. “Our task is to respect the will of the American people and the president, which they have chosen, who instructed us to fulfill the liquidation of bureaucratic swelling here, in the Department of Education – quickly and quickly.”

Following the reports that Trump planned to sign the executive order, the US Federation of teachers made a statement calling for Congress against the executive order and will not “abandon its responsibility to all children, students and working families who deserve a full promise and opportunities, not diminishing.”
The teacher’s union pointed to the NPR/PBS News/Marist poll, conducted in February, which revealed that more than 60% of Americans “categorically oppose”, eliminating the agency.
“The Department of Education and the Laws he must fulfill is one main purpose: to level the game conditions and to fill in the capabilities to help every child in America succeed,” the US Teachers Federation said in a statement on March 5. But not all children. “
Despite Trump’s order, the president needs a congress to resign the agency in accordance with Article II Constitution. Such a measure will require 60 votes to go to the Senate, and now there are only 53 Republicans.
However, Congress has an appetite for eliminating the Department. For example, representative of Thomas Massi, Resp.

“Non -Burea Bureaucrats in Washington, Colombia District, should not be responsible for the intellectual and moral development of our children,” Mass said in a statement on January 31. “States and local communities are best placed to form curriculum that meets the needs of their students. Schools must be accountable.”
Trump told reporters on February 4 that, despite the fact that he was nominating McMuhon to head the Department of Education, he eventually wanted her to lose his job.
“What I want to do is allow the states to govern schools,” Trump said on February 4. “I strongly believe in the choice of school. But besides, I want the states to be ruled by schools, and I want Linda to put myself from work.”

The Department of Education, established in 1980, seeks to improve the coordination of federal education and support of state and local school systems, according to its website. The agency received $ 79.1 billion in the 2024 financial year.
In September 2024, Trump stated that he wants to reduce “a swamp of government education and stop the abuse of taxpayers to emergence in America with all things you do not want us to listen to the youth language.”
Critics of the Education Department also pointed to the “Card of the Nation Report”, a national evaluation of progress in education (NAEP), published every two years, published on January 27. The exam tests of the fourth and eighth grade, and revealed almost standing mathematical results for the eighth student compared to 2022, and reading the 2nd grade in both levels.

As a result, the United States demands a “complete reset” that determines the students’ priorities, she said. It begins with the shutter of the Department of Education, an agency, which has focused more on diversity, justice and inclusion than the basics of education, she said.
Meanwhile, the Democrats have pressed the Department of Education for more information about its future in February amid concern that Trump’s administration is closing the agency.
