Rajasthan Royals (RR) battle coach Vikram Rathour suggested that Vaibhavhavanshi, 13, could not play in the season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Vikram Rathour stated that the decision to play in Vaibhavanshi would depend on factors such as team strategy, tone conditions and opposition.
Rajasthan Royals signed Vaibhav Suryavanshi for 1.1 ₹ Crore during the IPL 2025 mega auction. The batter became the youngest player who has ever bought an IPL auction. Suryavanshi has impressed his battle on the youth circuit, but his skills against top -notch international bowls remain unprofit.
Vikram Rathour said that Vaibhav Suryavanshi could not immediately debut the IPL. He said that the young batter has exceptional talent, but added that his selection would depend on several factors. Rathour also claimed that Suryavanshi could become a superior player with his ability to hit.
“I am not sure whether or not we will use it, it will depend on the strategy, the surface and the opposition. We acquired its services because he is a very special player,” Rate said at a press conference on Tuesday.
“It has a lot of capacity, it may be young, but I have hardly seen such a young player to have the power he has. The signs are excellent and if he works hard, I’m sure he will be a great player,” he added.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi came to light after breaking a century of 58 balls in a red ball game between India U-19 and Australia U-19 in Chennai. In front of the IPL 2025, Suryavanshi represented Bihar in the Vijay Hazarear 2024-25 trophy, scoring 132 runs in six entries to an average of 22.
However, in Rajasthan Royals’ well -based battle line it could be a challenge. With players like Yassevi Jaiswal, Sanja Samson, Riyan paragand Dhruv jerrel In the squad, the young mixer may have to wait for his opportunity.
Vikram Rathour, who joined Rajasthan Royals in September 2024, met with the main coach Rahul Dravid. The duo worked together in the Settings of India, where they played a key role in the success of India through formats, including the triumph of the T20 World Cup of the ICC Men.
Rathour expressed his excitement to unite -with Dravid again, calling him a brilliant coach. He added that while the IPL is a shorter tournament compared to the international cricket for a whole year, its work dynamic would remain the same.
“There will be no difference. We have already worked together, he is a bright coach. I really liked my term with him. When we were on the Indian team, we were lucky enough to win the World Cup. Otherwise, there is not much difference, the IPL is a shorter tournament and the Indian Cricket is throughout the year,” said Rathour.
The former Indian Cricter said that their role as coach revolves around supporting players, providing guidance and helping them to act at their best.
“The good thing is that you can work with the same group of players, we could have the same players up to three years old. In the Indian team, you have different batters between formats. In terms of training, it is to help the team, support the batters, guide them in some way and achieve the best performance,” said Rathour.
